He's probably not gonna be good enough to be in the rotation at the start of the season. At least he helped bring home the WS in 09. All these other pitchers getting 200+ mil contracts will have the same fate towards the end of their careers. Plus the Indians and Brewers worked the shit out of the guy. He already had a crazy number of innings before he came to NY and he was still an ace until about 2-3 seasons ago.
I guess....wildcard is kind of weak though...I don't hate the Yanks by any stretch...They just raised me a METS fan...Dave Kingman use to visit my grandfathers bar in Westchester,,also when I was a small kid I use to see this limo pull up and 4 dudes with long hair get out and go into the resturant 2 doors up...Didn't know it at the time but it was KISS without their makeup on when their identity was a big secret
Ithink the nationals will take thr NL east the division looks kinda week. The mets rely on their younger arms too much. If one of thode guys gets injured long term, the mets are fucked.
Also @SATAN , I read in an interview recently that Chipper and a couple other Braves said that whenever Gonzalez' contract runs up, they think Eddie Perez should become the new manager. Thoughts?

They're gonna be pieced together all year this year. They're already talking about trading Grilli to the Red Sox. My only interest in most of the veterans is for their value to be high enough to trade off for more prospects. Especially Aybar, Michael Bourne, maybe Markakis. The only players that are reasonably established that I'm worried about are Teheran and Freeman. Both had different issues last year and being on losing teams makes it hard to get invested in every game. They're our last long-term investments, so I really hope they keep realizing their potential. Everyone else is pretty much a placeholder until the Albies and Swansons and Mallexs start showing up
And on the manager thing...I dunno. It seems like hiring another Cox protege that happens to be a former Catcher from Latin America is kinda redundant. Cox was and is a nice guy, but he lacked a killer instinct that people like Joe Torre and Tony LaRussa had. It kills me that with all the talent that came and went through Atlanta during the 90s that we only got one ring out of it. Cox always seemed so scared to hurt people's feelings that he would rely on them in situations everyone else in the stadium knew they would fail in. He had too much of a soft spot for scrub players. At least LaRussa would quantify what his scrubs could do well and only put them in those positions. I want someone that's a little more Lionhearted. Joe Maddon is my favorite manager in the bigs right now. If they could find somebody in that mold, I'd be more excited.

A potential $25 million dollar middle reliever
