Cueto just seems likely to pull a Carl Pavano and disappear into the depths of 60 day DL for the next 4 years and Shamardya is so overrated it's not even funny. He reminds me of how people acted about Darren Dreifort and Matt Clement where it was always potential with no results.
Samardzija is a 3 year old guy but he doesn't even have 1k innings pitched. Last year wasn't goo, but it ther than that he had been very solid. His second year was bad and his third year he was injured. If you take those out he's a low 3 era pitcher.
Cueto is a year younger and has 1400k+ Innings pitched with a 3.4 era
i would have taken the smardzija deal but I'd have to pass on Johnny
I said if you take out his one real bad year. Record doesn't really factor into it when you're playing with a team as bad as the Cubs were. He got basically nothing for run support. In the NL on a good team he will most likely have a few good years. And obviously GM'a care about his low mileage.
Well, ATT will definitely help out both pitchers, but Satan hit what I was thinking. I feel like Cueto will get like an obscure elbow injury in his first start, miss 3 months then wind up with a 6.0 ERA until the Giants cut him.
I remember reading an article where Zito showed up to his first Giants spring training, having already decided to change his delivery and the pitching coach was doing his best not to trip out in front of the reporter. He always was a douchebag. People acted like he was some bohemian cu he played Dave Matthews songs on guitar. Baseball is so milktoast lol
