The Yankees are trading Jesus Montero and Hector Noesi to the Mariners for Michael Pineda and Jose Campos. I am honestly shocked that the Yankees are giving up Montero.

they're not. pineda is a 22 year old, 6'7" flamethrower with only one year of major league service. the yanks were probably trying to pry king felix away and settled. he's still a catch. it's weird to see so many good, young starters being traded this off-season.
We lost our DH, not a position player. He's easier to replace than most. Anything less than another AL Central title will be a disappointment. How are those White Sox doing? :P
But he is arguably your best hitter. Cabrera's off field problems are gonna affect him eventually. I don't have real high hopes about the Sox, but you never know what could happen. They still have alot of talent despite the turnover.
the tigers are actually lucky that martinez was hurt so far ahead of spring training. there's still a decent list of dh candidates out there they could sign. don't be surprised if they end up with carlos pena again.

Did Cabrera have any off-field issues after the DUI? No. There's no evidence to suggest that it's still a problem. The Tigers did fine down the stretch when V-Mart was hobbled and without Boesch's bat. I'm more concerned about the 5th spot in our rotation than the hitting right now, honestly. This is still a team that should win the division again. No excuses.

Pena is signing with the Rays. But yeah, there are a lot of options. They could get a second or third baseman and then move Avila and Boesch up the lineup or get Cespedes and get Young out of the field. It's a big loss, but not a season killing one by any means.
Prince Fielder reportedly agreed to a nine-year, $214 million contract with the Tigers on Tuesday, joining Miguel Cabrera to give Detroit an explosive one-two punch in the middle of its lineup.
The Tigers have not commented on it or confirmed the multiple reports. Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com first reported on the agreement.
A source told The Associated Press, "There are still some things that need to be worked out."
Fielder, 27, has hit 230 home runs in his Major League career of six-plus seasons, all spent with the Milwaukee Brewers before he became a free agent this offseason. He hit 38 home runs with 120 RBIs last year and finished third in the voting for National League Most Valuable Player for the second time in his career.
The left-handed-hitting first baseman presumably will bat fourth behind Cabrera, who led the Majors last season with a .344 batting average, .448 on-base percentage and 48 doubles.
The Tigers last week lost their primary designated hitter and cleanup hitter, Victor Martinez, to a torn ACL in his left knee. Martinez is expected to miss the season. Presumably, Fielder will play first base and Cabrera will mostly DH. Cabrera played third base and in the outfield earlier in his career.
The Nationals, Rangers and Orioles all were reported to have interest in Fielder, with Washington said to have been a finalist.
Fielder is a three-time All-Star. He hit 50 home runs in 2007 and led the Majors in RBIs with 141 in 2009. He has missed one game in the past three seasons.
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!
