Well I finished both the new ATR and Dimmu. I expected nothing, and received less. -_-
The new ATR is fucking garbage. Heavier then Overcome?!? HA! Every song is a radio song with nothing but clean singing except for the first 2 songs and Some Of The People, All Of The Time. And even those were boring and generic. At least Overcome was good Musically, even if it was lighter than The Fall Of Ideals.
uhhh, unless i'm going deaf, there is no fucking way some of those songs could ever get played and be accepted on mainstream hard rock radio. Did you even listen to the full album?
Also, while i'm at it, the BMTH sound quality to my ears on a car stereo blasted at a good volume sounds kinda flat at times and has little to no punch in the bass department. It sounds very compressed.
Well, he's also in the category of Maiden fans that says "Wahhhhhhhhh why didn't they play the classics on their last tour, the only albums I know are those before Seventh Son wahhhhhhh"
I don't know. Lately "regular" Metal bores the shit out of me.
Death Metal gets boring, especially when you're downloading a bunch of bands, and all the riffs start to sound identical. The ratio of unique Death Metal to boring generic Death Metal is 1,000,000 to 1.
Black Metal....see above.
Thrash Metal, eh, still my second favorite Metal genre I guess, but tremolo picked riffs and skank beats are only exciting for so long. Slayer doesn't even entertain me much anymore on CD.
But shit like TIAHBISITIAHLKIAS? Absolutely nothing sounds like it. It's so fucking unique. I love it. Never gets old, never gets boring.
Other bands I've been listening to that stay fresh:
Oh, Sleeper (Especially the song Son Of The Mourning) Miss May I Pierce The Veil (Not Metal, but excellent, nonetheless.)
See, this is where I bring back something we mentioned regarding the terrible band that is Linkin Park. Unique for the sake of being unique does not equal good.
If you can't find music that keeps your attention besides BMTH, I feel very sorry for you.
