It's one of those things where it just hasn't happened yet so your discouraged. Instead of just giving up actually make a real effort to get the pussae, trust me you'll be thankful for it
I think I'm gonna legally change my last name to Semma when I'm 18. It's my true family name as far as I'm concerned, it was my Mom's maiden name before her first marriage, and basically everyone else in my family is still a Semma. My current last name means nothing to me, I don't wanna carry my Dad's name.

Did that back in 2011 from bettencourt to rochford. Its insanely weird at first but you get used to it.
You're probably just homesick and scared since this is your first time being away from family and friends to be on your own. At first college is a scary thing and the responsibility is big but it will get better once you settle down and get use to it. A lot of the times freshman don't know what they want to be or switch majors and all that stuff at all the time. It's best to just talk to your counselor a lot just so they can help you out. That's what they are there for and that's what they are good at. I'm positive after going back home for a while and just chilling and recharging your batteries you will feel better and want to go back. You know we are here for you if you ever want to talk. >-
I discovered the "character creation" on soul calibre 4. So far, I've created all members of my family, Edward Scissorhands, Chuck Norris, The Incredible Hulk and Napoleon Dynamite
