You don't have to do anything to lose her. If you want to keep her though, you’re gonna have to take action.. She has internalized the distance and made it about her and her shortcomings now. Her perception is her reality. The clock is ticking, but you don’t get to know how much time is left on the clock. She will only tell you when it’s too late.

If you are in your head all day, it’s because the task you are doing is too easy and you’re are not being mentally challenged enough in the moment. Find more tasks to take on or ways to multi task your time. If you’re only good a physical labor then do physical labor, fuck it. But cut the shit with the “I can only do warehouse work” pity party. There are endless physical labor options; landscaping, furniture moving, appliance delivery, tire shops, lumber yards, roofing companies. Start a fucking lawn mowing company. Learn a trade. Women want to be provided for. Your value to her is directly linked to your ability to provide for her. She wants to build a life together and she is getting past the age where having a bum ass boyfriend is ok or acceptable. Good women push men to become better people. Keep telling her you are a failure and eventually she will start to believe you. What then? Depression is living in the past, anxiety is being worried about the future. You need to focus on the right now. Give your balls a tug.

Today you did something by throwing it all out there. Props for that. That was an action. Hopefully getting it off your chest helps a little. What action will you take tomorrow?

For real though. It took having the baby for me to really hit my potential in my field.

I have eliminated all distractions and simply just grind leads all day long. I almost never pick up my phone during my shift.

It has been the single most motivating thing that's ever happened to me.

You’re in the club now Rex. In case no one else explained it to ya, you only get to have two feelings that matter from now on - too hot or too cold.Thats it. Feeling sad? Doesn’t matter, you have other people to take care of. Hate your job? Doesn’t matter, gotta provide. Even those feelings of incorrect temperature are temporary though. You get to keep your hoodie or jacket right up until someone forgets their shit or the weather changes. Then you don’t even get to feel temperature anymore.

What a fucking luxury it must be to think that as a man your feelings fucking matter. 😂

Yup. That’s why I shut the fuck up now. Go on a bender like the rest of us lmao.

This is kind of venues cover bands get to play. Old guitarist's Avenged Sevenfold tribute is playing here. This is one of the major reasons why I will never play again. This shit pisses me off so much. Why would I ever waste my time writing music, recording, promoting, marketing, etc just to play at a shitty dive bar to 3 people, when there are people out there who dont write music, dont need to market, and can profit off the hard work of an already successful band and play to 300, 400, 500 people? I hate this fucking industry. I hate local scenes. I hate the retarded fucking "fans" who made it this way.

    Somebody please buy my guitars

Playing music other people made, without needing to do any of the heavy lifting, and riding off the successes of popular established bands, while taking opportunities and resources away from real bands struggling to get their music heard. They can eat cock

Every band you listen to has played covers. People want to hear shit they know. If you can do that good, maybe they will then listen to your shit. Imagine seeing the exact path to take to achieve something, refusing to take it, then crying about it.

You wouldn’t have ever been happy if you made it anyway. You’re still you.

Playing a cover here and there isnt the same as being a tribute band. They dont have originals to play. There is "no patch" to achieving. It's just playing other people's music, forever. Fuck that

They're good musicians, I'll admit that. I suck. I can't play Avenged Sevenfold's music. They're all better musicians than I am. Imagine if they put effort into writing their own music. But nah, easier to just ride off A7X's success and dont have to put in any dirty work.

Good luck finding that warehouse job instead. You can take the high road all the way to forklift certification class.

Dude, serious question, have you even looked at the shows our local venues book lately? Look at The Forge or WC Social Club or Beat Kitchen or Sub T, even Reggies - the only local shows they're booking are cover bands. Our venues literally wont book original bands anymore. The only venue that regularly books originals is Liar's Club, and even they have fallen into the trap of booking the same bands over and over again.

I have this conversation at work all the time. There's a really good up and coming metalcore band called How It Ends. People seem to really like them, constantly get compliments when they practice at my work. I asked them if they play out a lot, they told me they cant get booked. I see they played THREE shows all year. Without even being prompted they said "these venues only want to book cover bands".

This isnt me just crying to cry, its a serious issue that has killed the local scene here. Bands cannot get booked, period. People are not coming to their shows, period.

And I get it. Cover bands draw. As you have all said, people dont want to hear music they dont know. People arent going to shows to find new music anymore, they're going to shows to listen to the music they grew up with and get drunk. And it draws, venues want money, and so they keep booking cover bands. I get it, I really do.

Doesnt mean it sucks any less. Doesnt mean its a good thing. Metal is a dying genre as it is. It simply doesnt exist in any local capacity anymore because cover bands killed the local scene.

You ever see a rap cover artist? No, because that would be corny as fuck, and most rap fans will tell you its corny as fuck. Thats why rap is the dominant genre. People actively seek new artists. They prop up new artists. They book new artists. I just wish metal was the same way, because as it is, its devoid of all artistic integrity, and is an incredibly demoralizing waste of time.

I get that I bitch about this more often than I should, considering Im quite serious in that I will never play in a band ever again, so this doesnt really effect me anymore. But it's still frustrating to see as someone who still sees local bands at work every day.

And guess what most of our clients are anyways? Cover bands! Because everybody knows original bands are dead. And they will ALL tell you that.

Bought a top mount to put my soundbar above my TV because its blocked by my CRT being below my 4k. Spent an hour fucking with it, installing it. The soundbar is too heavy for my mount, TV stuck leaning forward. Had to take it all apart again. Soundbar is back to being behind the CRT. Pain in the ass.

Im out of solutions. Even simple shit never goes right.
