Actually probably closer to 20/25 people including people at the bar though. Sold some merch. Decent.
This was a bullshit show anyway, total clusterfuck planning-wise. Plans and times got changed like 10 times and the booker did nothing. We booked the other band, we made the flyer, we made the event page, etc. So its actually decent all considered
Our next show should be really good draw-wise. Stacked lineup at a DIY spot.
We threw around the idea of recording like 12 of them and dropping one a month on Spotify while we're recording/writing our full length.
We already know The Kids Arent Alright (The Offspring), the Power Rangers theme, and Never Gonna Give You Up (Rick Astley), so those are a given. My drummer wants to do the Angry Videogame Nerd theme, and I suggested Dropping Plates by Disturbed.
The entire point of covering something would be for something meme worthy, or something that we could take and make our own, while still playing something familiar to the crowd. There's no point in playing a song that we'd just play the exact same way as the original band.
Why the fuck would we cover Power Trip? Just to play it worse than they would? We could just play our own fast aggressive songs. I wouldn't even want to cover something from bands I like, like Killswitch or Trivium - we already play that style of music, that doesn't benefit us. We can't make that our own. Unless we did like an acoustic version of a heavy song or something like that.
Honestly I would stay away from anything rock or metal related because it’s just going to get judged against the original to me the best covers are the ones from an entirely different genre like Disney songs and shit
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!

We’ve got ideas.
