Was Local Natives really that good? I heard from reliable sources it was meh indie rock, but now I see everybody on its nuts. Also, Fen needs to be higher on that list.
It's fantastic. I have really stoped caring about what's considered "hipster" or indie or indie/mainstream or whatever lol. It's a super calm album, I think most people would at least like the atmosphere it builds.
It's a calm album more than anything. So I really think that anyone who doesn't jam only thrash or death metal 24/7 will at least have a shot at liking it.
Also Dustwalker was nowhere near Epoch. Well maybe not"nowhere near" but certainly a step back imo.
I think there's definitely more post-rock/ambient in Dustwalker, and I really like it. But none of the tracks on Dustwalker are as good as Carrier of Echoes of Epoch.
