I thought that when countries were worried about foreigners fleeing the country, they just ask them to surrender their passport. Wonder why they dont just do that?

Flight risk doesn't just mean legal travel, he could find a way past border patrol, etc.
Yeah, but if he bails, he's in a lot more serious shit, right? I don't see why he would then.
Only if it's a country with extradition treaty to the Czech Republic, which the US does have. It'd mean the end of the band.
