Like I said, they aren't amazing or anything, but I kinda like the choruses and some of the riffs. They sort of remind me of older Anthrax at times. I like them, but I realize not everybody does, and I don't have any intentions of getting worked up over it.
noone would even give a fuck or care at all about Red Fang if they didnt play mayhem... same goes for Shadows Fall and unfortunately alot of other bands.
I was listening to them before Mayhem, just saiyan...
i have to say i somewhat agree...red fang is pretty bland...
There is so much variety on Murder the Mountains it's ridiculous. <_>
Both are awesome bands, but they're really not all that similar. The Sword relies mostly on Iommic riffs for a stoner/doom metal feel and Red Fang uses a wider variety of sounds from the sludge and desert rock catalog.
High On Fire have been confirmed to appear at this summers “Heavy T.O.” and “Heavy MTL” festivals (more info here) in Eastern Canada this summer. The festivals organizers recently confirmed the news via Twitter. You may recall that High On Fire recently scrapped their summer touring plans—including the “Rockstar Energy Drink Mayhem Festival“—in order for band frontman/guitarist Matt Pike to enter rehab.
