If I love the band the I will commit to staying at the barrier. But I've started drinking and hanging around in the middle for a lot of shows also.its basically rail or bust. I'm not going to hang out in a dense ass crowd for hours to still be 15 people back.
Deftones were fucking fantastic last night. It seems like the chemistry that these guys have developed is at an all time high right now. This was my 9th Tones show throughout the years, and it might have been the best all around. Chino still has an insane amount of energy after all these years. The only complaint I have is the lack of Gore material. I really love the album. I would've have really appreciated a Gore heavy set considering I've seen them so many times at this point. MX was a nice addition and WHTY? was a pleasant surprise as well. But other than that, the same old set for the most part.
I only caught the last few minutes of Code Oranges' set. Not a fan.

The Cure was absolutely incredible. I've seen quite a few legendary bands this year, but, with the exception of Maiden, they were the best. They played flawlessly and sounded perfect. Robert Smith is such a friendly funny dude and the band is some top notch professionals. I wish we got a little more Disintegration in the set list but it was a pretty nice mix and we got some nice random shit. Couldn't resist getting up and dancing like a fool (I can't dance) during the last encore haha just such a fun fun time. I went in blind so there were some really sweet surprises in that set. Also, the best light show I have EVER seen. Loved every moment. I hope I get a chance to see them again one day but if not this was a mighty send off. @NOLA@SATAN

Just saw Thrice for the 7th time, and it was by far the best. They played a shit load of songs that they rarely play. @TRUMP you should check the tour out if it comes near you. I think you would dig their new album, very post-rock ish. Listen to "Hurricane"
Gonna be pretty brief on this one. I did get to meet Mike and Jay though, both are super cool dudes.
Through Fire - Standard hard rock, nothing to write home about. I left a few songs in to buy more beer
Trivium - Seen them once seen them a hundred times. The band is solid but it was a pretty standard set. They finished with "In Waves" . why.jpg
Drowning Pool - Apparently they still exist. Set was not too bad to be honest but all I really wanted to hear was "Bodies". They brought that old man on stage that was on America's Got Talent or whatever to help them sing it so I just started walking away once that happened.
Hollywood Undead - Another band I only wanted to hear one song from. "Undead" was fucking sweet and the rest of the set was completely forgettable.
Periphery - This is where the show started getting good. Band had a killer set and sounded on fucking point. Jumped in the pit for a sec but people just wanted to dance so I dipped. Only bad part of the set was right at the end when Spencer was yelling at the crowd to open up the pit as big as they could, as soon as it got huge he informed everyone that they had to cut the last song and the band just awkwardly walked off to boos ringing in from the crowd.
Hatebreed - Yeah it was absolutely killer. Jasta is such a good frontman, getting the crowd to jump around and go wild. Set was as good as it could've been given the short time they had. Love seeing this band live.
Of Mice & Men - I still like them, what can I say. Austin Carlisle brought the energy like no other, and the set list was good.
The Devil Wears Prada - I think I've seen the same set from these guys like 4 times now. Nothing new, but it was fun. Their frontman is just insane.
Ministry - I didn't watch much. They sound cool, but I had to rest.
Meshuggah - Second favorite band of the day. Holy hell these dudes are amazing. They sound just as good live as they do on their albums. I had a great time watching them and I will make sure to see them again.
Chevelle - I watched about half their set. It was good as expected, but I was too excited for the next band to come up.
Rammstein - Unreal set. The band was fucking flawless and Till was on his game. The pyro was popping off like crazy especially in a huge outdoor stadium and the set list was incredible. Lots of old shit including 2 songs off the first album. The crowd was singing along with most of the songs they played and I had a blast watching them. Can't believe I've seen them twice now.
Overall I had an amazing day. I payed wayyyyyyy too much on beer but it was worth it. Hell of a lineup and the fest was really well organized. Would highly recommend.
Oh and R.I.P to the fan that fell off the stands and died right before Rammstein came on. Just heard about it today. Sad news.
Looked up Hatebreed's set for that. Pretty good but man when they head line it's just incredible. Got everything you got plus like 22 more songs haha they were pulling out deep cuts, they played like half of Satisfaction and it was loaded with Perseverance and Rise Of Brutality as well. You ever see then head line?
