Got in the venue, met up with all of the regulars. Saw Aaron (Metal Crusades) so I met him for the first time and we chatted briefly.
Death Angel - Solid performance. I wasn't big on their newer songs but the old shit sounded good.
Testament - Awww yeeeeeah! Excellent set that sounded phenomenal. Sucks we got Tempesta instead of Hoglan but it didn't really matter. Joined the circle pit for Over The Wall, was fun. As the set progressed, I totally forgot about Into The Pit, so when they announced it I headed back into the circle pit because LAID TO REST IS MY FAVORITE SONG. Overall a killer performance and I can't wait to see them again.
Anthrax - Their sound for most of the set was fucking terrible. The bass triggers were up so loud, I felt like my testicles were going to explode. Was not a fan of the new songs. Joey's voice sounded a bit weak. That all aside, their performance was great. I enjoyed the classics and moshed for Caught In A Mosh and Antisocial. Started to for Indians but I stepped on the back of my shoe, folding it in lol. Didn't really care about the rest of the set because I had seen the setlist. I expected the encore to just be Metal Thrashing Mad and I Am The Law. Suddenly Scott Ian starts playing the intro to Among The Living. Shit just got real. Moshed for the first half of the song, it was easily the best part of their entire set. Even the mix was better at this point. Crowdsurfed for the first time at the end of Metal Thrashing Mad.
Overall, not bad for a free show.
I missed you there apparently. I talked to Adam for a minute, but that was it.
You may have seen me. I had an Alice In Hell backpatch
Idk I think I would've remembered that. I was off towards the right of the stage most of the night. I saw Adam in the hall by the bathroom and then by the pit towards the end of the show.
About a week before i left for Florida i found out my friend Kirby's band Legacy was playing a show Tampa i decided to make the hour long drive over to see him. i ended up going to far into Tampa during rush hour, and took me about 45 minutes to get back towards the venue, Transitions Art Gallery is a tiny little venue connected to the Tampa Skate Park. The sound for the venue was surprisingly really good. There was only about 50 people the whole show. oh and FUCK HARDCORE DANCERS! I officially hate these fuckers with a passion. I got to the venue as the bands were pulling in and it turned out to be pretty chill. i skipped the first 3 bands which were 2 locals from Tampa and the band Casino Madrid from San Diego, but from what i heard of Casino Madrid they were kind of like Attack Attack!. Towards the end of the night i hung out with them for about a half hour and and got their autographs and whatnot, pretty cool guys.
Legacy: My friend Kirby's band was who i really came to see, really great live presence, vocalist has a shit-ton of energy and he really knows how to get a crowd going. I recommend checking these guys out if they come near you. 8.5/10
The Air I Breathe: These guys were fucking amazing. i mean... words can't describe how good these guys are live. Ended up smoking a little weed with them after their set. 10/10
The Great Commission: This band is when the HXC dancers really started. They put on a good show and had the crowd singing along. Met them after their set and before i left the venue that night, I got a setlist signed and a signed drumstick from them. Really nice guys/girl. At the end of their set the vocalist went on some spiel about how "if you have tattoo's and piercings and listen to metal you will not go to hell" i went poker face while he did this... Still a half good band. 8/10
A Bullet For Pretty Boy:......left halfway through their first song. 1/10
all in all not a bad show for being the first $c3n3 show i've ever been to, if it wasnt for the hardcore dancers I may have had a better time. I should have expected it though.
Damn I must've been right next to you. I was next to Adam for the last part of Anthrax's set on the right of the stage right next to the pit
I was looking for you too, but I was also pretty drunk towards the end of the show.
Ah, that makes sense haha. It doesn't help that we were kinda in a rush to leave cuz my friend's parents were waiting. I was trying to find people to say goodbye to but I had trouble finding most of the regulars. Luckily I met the other two dudes I wanted to say bye to at the McDonalds down the street haha
TUPAC IS DEAD/THE LEGEND IS GONE/THEY SAYIN TUPAC'S BACK?/DEM NIGGAS WRONG
Chevelle - pretty awesome as usual, cuaght there setlist from 50 yards away, top that fuckers! 8/10
bush - played alll the hits, they seem like a real fun band and happy as hell to be playing music and i love that...gavin rosdale seems like a totally cool dude 9/10

Sounds like a pretty sweet show, and I fully agree when it comes to hardcore dancers, they're beyond annoying.
The Air I Breathe is friggin awesome, glad you liked them. I need to see them again soon.
and dude I was so amazed by The Air I Breathe, got a badass T-shirt and a copy of the album after their set. it was a very wise purchase.
