ok Jay heres the first part of my take home test
just check and see if i got these right, please?

    1) in triangle ABC, A=42.3 degrees, b=13 meters, c=15 meters.
    a) find the area of this triangle (i got 65.62 square meters)
    b) find the value of a (i got 10.27 meters)
    c) find the measurement of angle C (i got 79.41 degrees)

    2) given triangle with a=3, b=5, c=7
    a) find the area of triangle ABC (i got 6.50 square units)
    b) find the measurement of angle C (i got 120 degrees)

    3) find the standard form (a + ib) of the complex number 2(cos135 degrees - i sin135 degrees) (i got - sqrt2 - sqrt2 i)

    4) given X = 1 + sqrt3 i and Y = -2 sqrt3 + 2i
    a) find X in trigonometric form (i got X=2[cos(pi/3) + i sin(pi/3)]
    b) find Y in trigonometric form (i got Y=4[cos(5pi/6) + i sin(5pi/6)]
    c) find X^5 in standard form (i got X^5=16+i 16sqrt3)
    d) find XY and give the answer in standard form (i got XY=-4sqrt3 + -4i)
    e) find Y/X and give the answer in standard form (i got Y/X=2i)

ok im taking a break for a bit and eating then ill get it done and post here the next set of questions

Would it be possible for me to see a picture of the triangles in 1 and 2 so I know which sides are known and which aren't?

Jay I need some math help too.

    1. 2 + 2 = ?

    2. What is the square root of <_>

    3. If catz drinks a 6 pack of keystone, and smokes an ounce of swag, how many Zs will be in a single post?

    3 is right

    4a is right
    4b is right
    Check your sign in 4c
    4d is right
    4e is right

+ should be a - because sin 300 degrees is negative.

I'm also curious as to how you got the area of those triangles in 1 and 2.

    alrighty i fixed that one

    ok the last set

    5) solve over [0,2pi)
    a) 2 cos^2x + 5 cos x + 2 = 0 (i got x= 2pi/3, 4pi/3, 7pi/6)
    b) sin2x = cos x (i got x= pi/2, pi/6, 5pi/6)

    6) use a graphing calculator to solve 5cos x = 2 on [0,2pi) (i think i entered it wrong,but i got a horizontal line)

    7) solve the following on [0,2pi)
    a) 2 sin 3x - 1 = 0 (i got pi/18, 5pi/18, 13pi/18, 17pi/18, 25pi/18, 29pi/18)
    b) sqrt3 tan x/2 - 1 = 0 (i got pi/12, 7pi/12, 13pi/12, 19pi/12)

    8) rewrite as an algebraic expression in terms of x
cos (arccos x + arcsin x) (i have no idea how to do this one)

5a.....first two answers are right, third answer is not. There's only two solutions.
5b.....3pi/2 is another answer. The other three answers are right.

    6....I got x = 1.159 radians and 5.124 radians

7a and 7b look right to me from looking at the graphs but I would graph them using a calculator and check each of them to be sure.

    Working on 8....

so why isnt the third answer right on 5a? there has to be an answer to the second part of the equation

and how did you get 3pi/2 for b?

for 6, exactly how did you put it into the calculator?

    I got 8 as x*sqrt(1-x^2) - x*sqrt(1-x^2) = 0....
