California metalcore/rock band In This Moment has announced the departures of guitarist Blake Bunzel and drummer Jeff Fabb, both of whom are now performing with former American Idol contestant and Wind-Up Records recording artist James Durbin.
In This Moment had the following to say: "We wish them the best in their future endeavors. We are embracing this change with open arms, and a renewed spirit. Sometimes you have to let go of what's in your hands to reach for something greater!"
Meanwhile, the band is currently writing material for their next album, tentatively slated for a summer 2012 release via Century Media Records.
In one of the stranger incidents we've detailed on this site, Justin Godfrey, mastermind (and guitarist/vocalist) of The Abominable Iron Sloth, was jailed late last month under bizarre circumstances.
On October 27th, the Oroville, California Police Department received a call from Godfrey, who told told them that he was the "Angel of Death" and revealed that he was on the porch of his home with an assault weapon. He also told dispatchers that he had eaten mushrooms.
When the police arrived, Godrey peacefully put his weaspon down and was taken into custody. According to Sheriff's Sgt. Steve Collins, Godrey's conversations with police "centered on the end of the world and what things are going to transpire."
Godfrey was taken to Butte County Jail and charged with several felonies, including unlawful assault weapon activity and possession of an assault weapon. His bail was set at $30,000, and as far as we know, he is still in custody.
