The Menzingers wrote a blog post about their unfortunate robbing last night in Manchester, UK. The band note that they're accepting donations via PayPal and that Banquet Records is fundraising for them in the UK.

"Ok so here’s what happened…
We played a sold out show at The Moho last night in Manchester which ended up being the absolute best show of tour. Seriously! Stagedives, singalongs, shots of mystery liquors.. It was one for the books. An afterparty started to form at a bar down the street. In the great moods we were in we decided to partake and spent the night singing and dancing to The Cure and Springsteen with The Souls, Red City Radio, Leagues Apart, and tons of friends.
Dave March (our driver/front of house/lifemate/best friend), Eric (bass player/ good looking one) and I decided to only have a beer and then hit the road. Tom and Joe were going to take a cab back to the house. Ok cool. Everything’s going great. We walk around the block To the van and I hear Dave give a quiet “oh fuck”. The driver side window was smashed out and 3 personal bags were stolen. Unfortunately my bag was stolen with all of our tour money inside it. To top it off, we brought around $2000 in US cash with us in case of an emergency. So let’s see €5000 Euros, an iPad, 3 iPods, 3 passports, 2 pairs of raybans (I know, I know they’re super expensive but they make you look pretty cool), my personal tour journals from the last year and a half which included all of my “On the Impossible Past” lyrics and all of my god damn memories, a digital camera, prescriptions, blah blah blah. This sucks. It really fucking sucks because it’s not your fault and so many, in fact an absurd amount of you want to help out. It’s pretty surreal and heartwarming to know we’re not alone in this situation. Thanks, thanks, thanks. Cant tell you how much it means.
The absolutely wonderful folks at Banquet Records have set up a donation drive for us. They really are the best. If you live in the UK and care to help you can donate there. I hear they’re matching donations which is just too nice. Too nice. http://www.banquetrecords.com/MenzingersAppeal
While we’re extremely apprehensive about this we’re going to open up our paypal account if you care to donate. We don’t expect much and we feel extremely uncomfortable putting our hats out like this but here’s our paypal account if you care to help: MenzingersSkrilla@gmail.com Tom made the account name up years ago. Sounds about right. We’ll find a way to make it up to you by way of acoustic demos, new songs, free shows. Whatever. Thanks for the help. Love you all.
SLIPKNOT DJ Sid Wilson has suggested that the band will enter the studio in early 2013 to record the follow-up album to 'All Hope Is Gone'. The band have tentatively hinted in recent months that they are thinking about returning to the studio to record the next album but they have also been cautious not to jump back into anything too quickly as they are still grieving for the death of bassist and friend, Paul Gray.
Speaking to NME recently, Sid said that the band would enter the studio at the beginning of next year and, as soon as singer COREY TAYLOR had completed his touring with side project STONE SOUR, they would be back working on a new record. Asked about the possibility of a new SLIPKNOT record, Wilson said: "We've got Mayhem Festival this summer and after we break for winter and Stone Sour are done with their tour, we'll be back in the kitchen with Slipknot. Actually before Stone Sour finish touring we'll be in the studio preparing for Corey's return, keeping the irons hot."
The day has finally come, No Doubt have made this special video to announce their new record will be out September 25th, 2012! This probably means a world tour will follow! Yeah buddy! Details are very limited at the moment, but at least we have a real life release date.
Rob Doherty, former guitar player for Canadian metal band Into Eternity, has passed away. Cause of death has not been specified publicly.
Doherty was a member of Into Eternity from 2003 until 2005, and was most recently a member of Final Darkness, who have issued the following statement:
"It is with incredible sadness that we must say goodbye to our brother Rob - you will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved you...thank you for being a part of our lives. May you find peace, my friend..."
People are dicks, i bought a ticket to Earthday birthday and then won 2 tickets a few hours later, so when we got there this guy offered to buy my extra ticket, he asked how much i wanted, i said i paid $70 for it and i think $50 is a fair price, and he said "nope, can't do more than $20", fucking scalpers.
NINE MORE AWESOME MUSICIANS ADDED TO DEATH TO ALL TOUR, INCLUDING FORMER MEMBER OF, UM, DEATH
OH MY FUCKING LORD, the Death to All Tour somehow just got even more awesome. In case seeing a bunch of old Death tunes being performed by former members of that band (including Paul Masvidal, Shannon Hamm, Bobby Koelble, Gene Hoglan, Sean Reinert, Steve DiGiorgio, and Scott Clendenin) while being fronted by Obscura’s Steffen Kummerer and Abysmal Dawn’s Charles Elliott AFTER either Gorguts or Atheist have opened the show wasn’t enough to make your sexual organs explode with excitement, it has now been announced that NINE MORE TOTALLY RAD DUDES have been added to the tour — including the great Richard Christy, one former member Death who seemed conspicuously absent from the already-announced roster of participants.
The only downside (if you can even call it a downside) is that the tour’s organizers aren’t announcing which of these guys will be playing at which shows — only that “There will be guest appearances in each city and some cities may have more than one surprise in store.” So if, for example, you’re really stoked on the idea of seeing Awesome Musican A, there’s no guarantee you won’t end up seeing Awesome Musician B instead. That being said, it’s really hard for me to imagine you being disappointed in seeing ANY of these guys, as they’re all great.
Richard Christy (Death, Charred Walls of the Damned) Alex Skolnick and Chuck Billy (Testament) Paul Ryan (Origin) Craig Locicero (Forbidden) Travis Ryan (Cattle Decaptiation) Trevor Strnad and Ryan Knight (The Black Dahlia Murder) Emil Werstler (Dååth, Chimaira)
