They are half and half. They went through a false metal phase. But some of their stuff is metal. From the setlists I've seen lately, they're sticking to the metal side now. Compared to Rob's work in VioLence though, they are absolutely false metal.
Iowa had some death metal influences in there, its not hard to hear it at all. no one is saying Slipknot is a death metal band. Iowa was the only album they had that was heavy and had some death metalish style lyrics and drumming. it was a nu-metal album of course but had some different influences and one of them was death metal.
seems the general concessus is that if a band is influenced by metal, then that band is also a metal band, thus the evolving of metal that was discussed. All music evolved from classical, does this theory mean that all music is classical?
He will not do a Vio-lence reunion. Machine Head has become very popular and have been getting some big shows and making money. No way Robb would do it anytime soon, but who knows.
Iowa had no death metal influence. The lyrics were all generic teen angst, whining about mommy and daddy not loving them enough. The drums were not death metal drumming either, three people had to hit drums to make it seem like the band actually had a good drummer. The guitars are all fucking palm-muting, because they can't do real riffs. Slipknot has nothing of talent, and does not have any death metal in them. Marc, you are an emo faggot, don't try to act like you know what metal is. Go back to e-flirting.
"three people had to hit drums to make it seem like the band actually had a good drummer" Jordison is already good enough to do their jobs "The guitars are all fucking palm-muting, because they can't do real riffs" false. If you listened to Slipknot you would know why that's not true "does not have any death metal in them" True but marc was saying there's death metal INFLUENCES in Iowa, not that it's a death metal album
Jordison fucking sucks. I have listened to Slipknot, all it is is palm muting, and single-string riffs. No shit dumbass, that's why I said "in them", not "they are".

I plan to talk to Rob about the possibility of a reunion at some point in the future.
