"This fucking argument is like abortion. No one is ever gonna agree so you just gotta shut up about it."
Mikey wins lol. Btw I believe Motley Crue is hair metal and at least early Slipknot was metal. You can't tell me Iowa didn't have death metal in there.
Read again. I said it has death metal in it, not necessarily that it's a death metal album. I know Iowa is a nu-metal album when it's all said and done.
lol...this arguement has gone on all day. i've agreed to disagree. last night was a great night seeing metal bands, and mayhem will be fun seeing non-metal bands
^Exactly my train of thought. When I think death metal I think cannibal corpse or obituary or behemoth. Iowa just doesn't seem like them in any way. It is heavy, yes, but it's no where near as heavy as those bands discography
And death metal isn't just about the sound, its about lyrical content. Does it have to be gruesome Cannibal Corpse lyrics? No. But they have to be about death or similar themes. Slipknots lyrics are just yelling/blaming people and saying they don't want to fit in AKA teenage angst.
TUPAC IS DEAD/THE LEGEND IS GONE/THEY SAYIN TUPAC'S BACK?/DEM NIGGAS WRONG
That's a good point wine, I guess my statement is more of a generalization, but all of Death's imagery was skulls and gore and of course their logo had the scythe of the reaper and the cross. Its basically just themes of death.
