Seeing "real metal" bands last night got me thinking about Maggie and the whole metal police thing. Most bands today aren't real metal. Metal wasn't designed to have cookie monster singing, have constant breakdowns, or scream every word on vocals. Metal should always have melodic understandable intelligible vocals, shreadding guitars, technical sound bass playing, thunderous drumming, and no keyboards or DJ's. Never should rapping ever be added to vocals. i actually see the light and agree with some of what Maggie was sayinh about false metal

The thing is, metal has evolved to so many different levels and genres. How many things in life stayed exactly how they were created and how they weren't meant to be. Not many. People have interpreted metal in their own ways and made it how they want it to sound, for an audience that wants to listen to it.
And just like websites, if you don't like a website you have the choice of not going there. With music, if you don't like a certain type of metal, you have the chance of listening to metal you like.

Not trying to get on your case John, I just don't agree with the false metal stuff

some of the changes that have made the bands to lose their metal qualities. Listen to early Maiden, Judas Priest, then listen to a random deathcore band. All the qualities that made early metal great are totally gone

i am also not saying i don't like any false metal bands, i am just saying they are not metal. I am wearing a Slipknot shirt now, and they aren't metal. I am going to WASP a couple weeks from now and they aren't metal. Nu metal and hair metal is not metal, but i do like some of the bands

Dio and Ozzy use a live Keyboardist. are they not metal???

I consider WASP and Crue to be hard rock. What i meant about keyboards is they take the metal out of metal songs. as far as Dio and Ozzy, keyboards aren't a driving force in their music. have them in some songs, like in Ozzy's case Mr Crowley, keyboards are used are make this a hard rock song versus a metal song, but guitars are still the driving forces in all Ozzy's songs. Swedish death metal that uses that weird keyboard sound in all their songs are not metal. I saw Dimmu Borgir live, and they have a whole gothic look and sound that take the metal out of their music. Like i said before, listen to the forefathers of metal, then Dimmu Borgir. you will see that all the elements that make metal is not in their music.

oh and i hope everyone realizes that some bands have songs that are different from their usual ones
they can be harder or softer
i think this is a stupid argument to have considering not everyone thinks the way you think kthxbai
