Well if its not yours, you've been biting his style like a motherfucker. You've still written 5 songs that all break down to saying the same shit. Don't get too predictible when you write. You rap, people hate, fuck em, gonna make it anyway. K, we got it. Now use your voice to says something else.
I still challenge you to write a Slick Rick kind of story rap.
Not at all, that's just what's on my mind the most.
Slick Rick’s style is commended by music critics - music journalist Peter Shapiro says, “‘La Di Da Di' was important because of its narrative structure and Rick’s understanding of how crucial little sonic details—such as his use of a female voice and his yawning rap—
were to hip hop style.” [2]
He is largely known for his story raps, such as ‘Children’s Story’ and ‘La Di Da Di' – “he largely introduced the art of narrative into hip hop… none of the spinners of picaresque
rhymes who followed did it with the same grace or humor.” [3] - Allmusic states that he
has the “reputation as hip hop's greatest storyteller.” [4] In the book Checkthe Technique, Slick Rick says, “I was never the type to say freestyle raps, I usually tell a story, and to do
that well I’ve always had to work things out beforehand.” [5] Kool Moe Dee comments,
“Slick Rick raised the lost art of hip hop storytelling to a level never seen again.” [6] Devin the Dude notes that Slick Rick’s ‘Indian Girl’ is a goodexample ofthe typeofhumor that
existed in hip hop’s golden era, [7] and Peter Shapiro says that “he was funnier than Rudy
Ray Moore or Red Foxx”. [8]
Slick Rick uses very clear enunciation and raps with the “Queen’s English”. [9] O.C. states: “The Great Adventures of Slick Rick is one of the greatestalbums ever… the stuff he was
just saying on there, it was so clear… the [clear] syllable dude was Slick Rick for me”. [10]
He is also renowned for his unique “smooth, British-tinged flow” [11] which contains distinct structures - in the book How to Rap, it is notedthat onthe song ‘IOwnAmerica’, he “puts a rest on almost every other 1 beat so that each set of two lines begins with a
rest,”. [12] Kool Moe Dee states that, “Rick accomplished being totally original at a time
when most MCs were using very similar cadences.” [13] He has what is described as
“singsong cadences” [14] - Andy Cat of Ugly Duckling mentions that Slick Rick uses a
melodic delivery on the track ‘Hey Young World’. [15] Slick Rick is also known to
extensively use punch ins, especially in his story rhymes as different characters [16] - Kool
Moe Dee says Rick used “multi-voices to portray multiple characters.” [
Guess who's back with a brand new track Form a single file line to hop on my sack Got a brand new title but the same old crap Cuz I spit the same shit on every rap Recycle flows like your periods back Move the fuck on and expand your horizons Can you hear me know like Verizon? Bored as fuck so I checked this thread Hoping Erik wrote a story rap like I said Tried to tell him Rick the Ruler did it the best And to step on up if he wanted to give himself a test Erik was like "his voice sucks" and then he quickly left He refuses to listen, turned down the next mission, blind with no vision How's he supposed to get bomb like nuclear fission? No story to read, I guess I'll just diss him He can scream fag and try to get dudes to kiss him Quit doing the same shit and you will improve your ability Try something new and flex your verbal agility Close your fucking mouth and learn some humilty A man is never wiser than the minute he Looks around and behind to see He doesn't know as much as he once thought he might have Eyes open on a journey to enlightment, drop the fake entitlement, Wise up and you might you find the path Rise up blind and you'll walk into a blood bath Your not a dumb man so don't let your writing get stupid Don't take the same shit, chop it and loop it Take the knowledge you gain and then start to use it And you might live your dream of making music Learn something new from everything you do And always strive for improvement This is real shit that I'm speaking of Learn and maybe get your music into the clubs Or gets all pissed and get mad me, automatically And keep spitting the same shit sporadically But like Katia's vibrators with dead batteries With no buzz you get no love
Aight, so I'm doing a 3 way collab with 2 other Rappers on this dope ass beat that this producer made. It's being done on the other forum I'm on. I'm the first to have my verse done. This is one of my favorite tracks that I've done based on the beat, the beat is insane. But, depending on how long it takes the other 2 dudes, this might not be done for a few weeks, so, here's the lyrics to my verse:
Glory, what is glory? It seems every mothuhfuckuh wanna go down in history. Even though they boring, even though they passionless. I'm fighting for my success, ayo homie, are you smellin' this? Ay, ay, and I'm never gonna stop. What's up with all these suckas thinkin' they goin' to the top? Why they so entitled to the crown when they ain't never takin' it? Yo, I really want it too, but I work for it, no fakin' it. Yo, I do it larger than life, I mean, I do it so big, that I'm dwarfin' a swine. Ha, I know so many cats just like me. Who want this high life, but they don't got the heart like me. They don't wanna break a sweat, they won't work hard like me. They won't dedicate their life, lay down the cards like me. We're capable of glory, but it has some prerequisites. Years of dedication, sleepless nights, now go add up the digits. Uh, and I know I'm gonna make it. Can't have it any other way, success is for the takin'. I'm gon' live a life, so much bigger than my dreams. Comin' up from nothin', so I deserve the finer of things, yo. I'm doin' things, that I thought I'd never do. Life's a game of struggle, now it is time that I make a move. So, I guess in this struggle for glory, we're all in the rat race. It's more like I'm in the lead, while you rodents give this cat a chase.

Hoping Erik wrote a story rap like I said
Tried to tell him Rick the Ruler did it the best
And to step on up if he wanted to give himself a test
Erik was like "his voice sucks" and then he quickly left
He refuses to listen, turned down the next mission, blind with no vision
How's he supposed to get bomb like nuclear fission?
No story to read, I guess I'll just diss him
He can scream fag and try to get dudes to kiss him
Quit doing the same shit and you will improve your ability
Try something new and flex your verbal agility
Close your fucking mouth and learn some humilty
A man is never wiser than the minute he
Looks around and behind to see
He doesn't know as much as he once thought he might have
Eyes open on a journey to enlightment, drop the fake entitlement,
Wise up and you might you find the path
Rise up blind and you'll walk into a blood bath
Your not a dumb man so don't let your writing get stupid
Don't take the same shit, chop it and loop it
Take the knowledge you gain and then start to use it
And you might live your dream of making music
Learn something new from everything you do
And always strive for improvement
This is real shit that I'm speaking of
Learn and maybe get your music into the clubs
Or gets all pissed and get mad me, automatically
And keep spitting the same shit sporadically
But like Katia's vibrators with dead batteries
With no buzz you get no love
