anyone paying attention to this? they're starting to say that fox news was doing the same thing in america, perhaps even hacking into 9/11 victims phones.
"A criminal investigation and a public inquiry have been spawned as a direct result of allegations that journalists from Murdoch newspapers may have tried to hack the phones of families of soldiers killed in Iraq and Afghanistan and that they made illicit payments to corrupt police officers."
"News Corporation made over $10 billion in profits over the last four years. And their tax came to $4.8 billion, negative," Johnston says. "That is, they made $4.8 billion from tax refunds."

they're finding that with multiple companies. even bp
the worst part is that so many of these companies have, for the most part, moved their jobs elsewhere but continue to reap the benefits (taxes, gov't protection, political interest) of still being american companies. they have all these ratfuck politicians positioning that if you demean corporations, that you're anti-business/anti-capitalism/anti-american.
and people believe it and go with it, even though it's clearly not in their best interests.

Microsoft has about 90k employees, with the largest chunk of them living and working in Washington State. They have a small office of like 10 people in Nevada, that they claim all the sales of their products go through them... Since Nevada has little to no business tax, they get around having to pay washington state tax on the products they are selling. So basically Microsoft is putting a HUGE burden on the WA state infrastructure, but found a great tax loophole that gets them out of paying to support it.
Me thinks shit like that should stop. Microsoft should move the fuck to Nevada and then see how long Nevada stays tax free with 60,000 new employes to the state.
we really should move to something more flat, and loophole free.

This, ladies and gentlemen, is why our economy is fucked.
It's more then just this.... I was looking up tuition the other day. I graduated from a state university in 2000 and my tuition was 3,000 per year. That same school, 11 years later is now charging 12,000 for the same degree. Basically 4 times as much.... How are we helping our future society when we stress the importance of college to our kids, yet handing our kids a 100k debt for a 30k a year job. It is slavery is what it is.... economic slavery.
the problem with america is that everything is so closed doors and shit, things need to be made way more out in the open so we can see what these assholes are doing all the time, including govt
