Megadeth > Slayer. Slayer headlined at Carnage and Megadeth still showed them up, easily. Slayer played Seasons, my favorite album of theirs, in full and it still wasn't enough. I actually thought they were better at Mayhem.
No, not really. I've defended Slayer's live show to the end on this board. I thought they were awesome at Mayhem and Carnage. Megadeth was just better. :P

i disagree, but i'm prejudiced against megadeth. i was one of the fans they turned their backs on in '92 when they sold out and tried to one-up metallica on the radio. i'd say slayer>>>metallica>megadeth. and btw, megadeth playing 'holy wars' twice during their set on both their tour and clash of the titans was laaaaaaaaaaaaaame.
i can't stand bands that don't interact with the crowd... at all. slayer went like 5 songs back to back with no break whatsoever. not being a fan i couldn't figure out where one started and one ended
In most situations, I support what you're saying here, especially from a non-fan stand point. I'll give one reason why I can't oppose them doing that on Mayhem: The alloted time for the slot they were given. I wouldn't blame any band who has been headlining for 2 decades for wanting just push out as much as possible in 60 minutes. I see more pros than cons from a marketing standpoint, especially if they were trying to branch out to new fans. If that was more true when they play their usual 1.5-2 hr sets I've seen, then it's legit enough for me and even I would probably have a complaint.
while i do see your point, even in that crunched time slot you can end a song, take a breath, say the song name and then start playing. 5-10 seconds tops to do that

No. Dave's voice is atrocious live. Musically they are great but his vocals have turned into this weird falsetto when he hits any form of high note.
It's not great, but it's not bad. Tom's voice isn't exactly great when going high either so it's a moot point. If you can tolerate the vocals on album you're not going to have a problem with them live.
Tom pissed me me off when he didn't do the angel of death scream. And as a fan of slayer I found it hard to tell one song from another during their set.
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!

I'll give them another chance at Mayhem.
