But it is. Bands may be similar but none are the same.

Ignorant right there. Saying no Metal bands are the same is just dumb.

No band is the same, unless we're talking cover bands. Otherwsise, it's ignorant to to say any two Metal bands are the same. They may sound similar, but they're not the same.

No bands are the exact same. Some bands try to copy other bands, like in the core genres. Thats where shit gets similar and retarded. Also, you just calling everything or everyone ignorant because of this is retarded as well. Yeah sure, the way some bands sound can get congused with others but that doesn't mean that the same thing doesn't happen in rap/pop ect. Like just recently I heard some guy rip off Float On in his song

Except you just proved yourself to be ignorant again. Lupe Fiasco is who you're you're referring to. And he didn't "rip it off". It's called SAMPLING, a common thing in Hip Hop, and they legally need to get permission to use the samples, meaning Modest Mouse gave permission, so keep making yourself look retarded.

Fun fact of the day, Kanye West's "Stronger" was "sampled" from Daft Punk's "Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger". Yay for sampling!

Thank you Captain Obvious. That was a sick sample too.

I actually go by the name Captain Insano now, Captain Obvious is my old name. And I also never knew that sampling Daft Punk's song made Kanye sick, maybe the original song is cursed.

Holy shit you are fucking ignorant.

SAMPLING IS AN ELEMENT OF THE FUCKING GENRE HIP HOP DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT?

And yes, it is original, taking another piece of Music and changing it around and making it something new and actually making it work takes talent. It made for an amazing beat in The Show Goes On.

Keep making yourself look retarded. I know sampling is normal in hip hop/rap you little fuck. But you argue how nothing is original in metal, rock or whatever when sampling somone else's beat or song is far from original. Weird Al has a shit load of talent because not only does he take beats n other's music, he comoletely re-writes the song to make it hilarious

Did I say NOTHING in Metal is original? Veil Of Maya is very original, I love them, they have a unique sound that no one else has, The Faceless is similar, but even that's a stretch. No, most of it isn't though, and just recycled bullshit. Oh, skank beats, blast beats, tremolo riffs, and double bass? HOLY FUCK. Never heard this. Oh wait, I hear it in every Metal album. And sampling is original and does take talent TO MAKE IT WORK. Any fuck can sample, not anyone can make a completely new song with sampling. So, once again, keep making yourself look ignorant.

If I may interject into this conversation and give my professional opinion. I am a big fan of Electronic bands but I can't wrap my brain around Hip-Hop when sampling is used. In my opinion, it takes far more talent to create a beat from scratch than to use someone else's beats and just mix them. This is why I really enjoy bands like The Prodigy, Combichrist, KMFDM, & Skinny Puppy because they originate.

sampling is an element of hip hop because so few of them have the talent to actually make something original

But reusing the same riffs or drum patterns throughout albums or songs is original?

Holy fuck. I can't take the ignorance. Yes, obviously making beats from scratch takes more talent, as someone who is learning production and making beats, it's very hard, but so is sampling. Sampling isn't a matter of "using someone else's beats and just mixing them.". For instance, in The Show Goes On, the only part sampled from Float On, was the little opening riff, everything else in that song was bulit from the ground up. And yet again, sampling and using it effectively while still making it sound takes talent and creativity.
