I liked it for 3 days and got bored of it. As is the norm for Metal, it's bland and doesn't hold my attention.
Ok...so let me get this straight. You liked it, then got bored...which that is a phase. But you're saying that's normal for metal music, at least for you. So I guess metal music as a whole is a phase for you <_>
Metal just got boring to me. It's a non-evolving genre and never has anything new to offer, it's the same shit every time. You can only do so much with Metal.
And you can only do so much with pop/rap music, imo.
Wrong. And that was just proved to me by All 6's And 7's. Almost done, and this album has thoroughly blown my mind.
there isn't much you can do withrap besides beats and catchyness.
And with this, you have proved you're ignorant as fuck and have no idea what you're talking about. You clearly don't know much about Hip Hop, so don't shit on it with an uneducated opinion. Hip Hop, is not at ALL, based on catchiness. Straight 3-4 minute flows with no choruses aren't "catchy." Yet, if they're done right, they can be amazing.
This. I do know a bit about rap/hip hop and pop. I've listened to it since I was 4 pretty much. Sure it all evolves, but not by muvh and it evolves to what's popular most of the time.
erik, you just sound stupid. stop while you're ahead.
lolnostfu
And you think we're the ignorant ones...
I'm not being ignorant. My love for Metal has just been completely deteriorating little by little over the past few months. It's nothing special. Now, unlike all of you, I'm not hating on the genre, it's a good genre in it's own right, it's just bland to me and no longer entertains me.
rap used to be good back in the day. most rap these days is about gangbanging, pimpin bitches, getting money, rolling on 30 inch rims and other stupid shit. while some break the mold its a small minority.

Once again, no, ignorance is so evident here. What "evolves" to what's popular, is that dance bullshit like Soulja Boy, which no one except middle school girls takes seriously. No one in the REAL Hip Hop world even considers that Hip Hop. Real Hip Hop is always doing new shit.
It's not being ignorant. It all does, this isn't from an uneducated opinion, therefore, it's not ignorant. From personal experience, it's bland. Everything in Death Metal (With a few exceptions.) sounds the same. Everything in Black Metal (With a few exceptions.) sounds the exact same. It follows that same pattern for every subgenre. Like Ed said, when I can't tell the difference between Band A and Band B, or between the songs on an album, it's time to listen to different Music. Even with shitty Hip Hop, I can at least never say I've never heard a Hip Hop album where all the songs sounded the same. They're all individual.

metal has the biggest gap from extreme to the other than any of the other genres

If I were to say that all Rap and Pop sounds the same, you'd probably call me an ignorant faggot.
Go double standards!
