I think my point is proven, those who knock Pantera really never gave them a chance. The 3 songs you named are their 3 most popular songs, and to be honest all 3 of those songs are at the bottom of my list on Pantera songs. They have of better shit out there. All I'm saying is before I say i cannot stand a particular band, I give them a thorough listen. I think alot of people that talk shit on Pantera really never listened to them and are only bashing because they are hyped. I can understand if one doesn't like a band, but at least give me a reason other then they are over hyped. And people should still respect pantera for keeping hevy music alive when it was going down the drain in the 90's. They have influenced most of the bands all of us listen to today.

I'm not worked up, I just here people bash Pantera for no reason all the time and I'm trying to understand why. There's alot of bands out there that I don't really like, but I realize they arent bad and have done alot for the music indrusty , so I dont bash them. I said it before, I think most of the people bashing Pantera are just following others and never really heard them. I'm not mad at all.
Dude, they just don't know because they are too young and werent there. That or they just arent really into metal. don't waste your time anymore. Those that are into metal and were there during the 90's knows what's up.
Pantera was the climax of metal. They put on a show like no one before them, and no one after them will ever match the shit they pulled. No one here who did not see them, will never know what a concert can be. They will just be happy with their toned down, generic, pussy shit. dont worry bro, I was there... I know.

I love most Pantera and as someone who was around in the 90's and has seen Pantera numerous times live. I will say they get a little too much credit and are a bit overrated. I will agree that they almost single handedly kept metal alive in the early to mid 90's when there wasn't much else good happening in the Metal world. I will agree that Cowboys From Hell and VDOP are all time classic albums and TGSTK was very good as well. However I don't care for FBD and I thought Reinventing the Steel sucked. Don't get me wrong I will always love what Pantera did, but to compare them to Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden, and Metallica is ridiculous. Btw Floods is a fucking awesome song....

Apparently you don't understand the concept behind the logical operator "or". "or" is a union, that when used means that one of two separate statements is true. For example, most people on earth could say "I am a boy, or I am a girl" and that is a true statement because people usually are one of those two genders. In my statement, I was claiming that those who are shitting on Pantera either were "Too young and werent there" OR "not really into metal".
Take a look at what CF said above... CF is a perfect example of a metalhead who was alive in the 90's but not a big fan of Pantera. Was his comment negative? Fuck no. that is a great response and shows that 1. he isnt a fan but 2. He has mad respect for what they did to metal in the 90's. I firmly believe that anyone that was into the scene in the 90's and doenst like Pantera would at least have comments like CF's.... If not and there werent alive in the 90's then they probably just arent into metal.

Disclaimer: I am absolutely a fan of Pantera, but I just don't hold them in as high of regard as you and other people do. They are still one of my all time favorite bands and that won't change, but I don't love EVERYTHING that they did, like alot you guys do is all. I think over time they have become overrated, through no fault of their own, but maybe they ended at the right time, considering that other bands like Metallica have done after their prime is hurt their reputation.
I'm not unfamiliar with the albums. I've tried to like them, believe me, I just viewed both albums as disappointments. It's only my opinion. I won't try and sway anyone else my way.
