It makes zero difference to whether it's in our schools or not. Making people recite some pledge isn't going to make them respect a certain country.

I think the pledge is stupid. saying it doesn't make me more American and hating it doesn't make me less.
I don't care if other people like it though that's just my opinion.

Agreed, I think people put far too much emphasis on it. I don't care to whether someone says a pledge but I would take issue if someone refuses to vote on a issue that they are passionate about.
