I'm sorry, I don't hate the guy, but giving him an extension right now just doesn't make sense to me. It has me concerned that someone else in our forward corps won't be back.
it makes perfect sense.
How? He's getting more money as he's getting older. That in itself doesn't make sense. Couple that with the fact that if he decides to retire, that contract will still count as a hit against the salary cap......I don't like it unless someone else is leaving, and even then it's too much money.

i'd take JVR over Nash personally. as good as Nash is, he is not worth a 7.8mil cap hit. plus thats 7.8mil until 2017-2018. JVR will be a beast, philly would be stupid to give up on him so early hes still a youngin
I would agree but jvr is very lazy this season. Last year when he was with giroux he seemed like he tried more. This year he just seems overly unproductive he has so much unused potential

The Detroit Red Wings have announced a two-year contract extension for veteran forward Todd Bertuzzi. Details from various sources indicate that Bertuzzi will be paid $1.975 million next season and $2.175 million for the 2013-14 season. Under current CBA rules, Bertuzzi's cap hit would be $2.075M. The contract also offers a no-trade clause for Bertuzzi.
Nope. However, it looks like there will be at least one forward who will be gone next year. Holland doesn't do these things without reason. My guess is Homer's gone and they'll use Bertuzzi in that role for the next couple years. In that case, Bert would be an upgrade over Homer overall.
I know their issue isn't scoring at all. It's goaltending I just don't think bryz is used to media pressure. There is alot more eyes and on him in philly then there was in Phoenix
