Howard broke the pinky finger on his stick hand last night. Conklin will play the next two games but the hope is Howard won't be out for much longer than that. I'm just glad it's not worse, and now he can rest a bit.
Fixed. The games in which Conklin loses are games when the Wings play like shit. If he stood on his head in any of those games it probably wouldn't have mattered.
team should rally around the backup goaltender, play better defense in front of him. Redwings score enough goals to offset any bad goaltending. i dont think there is anything to worry about
I think the wings depend too much on howards skill that when conklin is in net they slack off defensively
They're a better defensive team than they were last year, honestly. The team defense in general has gotten better every year since 2008-2009, when we just outscored everybody. I don't think that really explains it. A lot of Conklin's starts have come on the road and we're a .500 road team this year.
