Vektor and Skeletonwitch are the only nu-thrash bands doing something both new and good.
I'm excited to see the writing credits for the new Black Dahlia Murder album, because the new song seems to have Knight's fingerprints all over it, and it's making them into a new band.

maybe they arent doing anything new, but i think Evile, Lazarus AD, Warbringer, Warbeast, Lich King, even Toxic Holocaust and Municipal Waste are pretty damn good too.

This. Although I think Lazarus A.D. Sort of brings a new sound. Either way, as long as these bands keep playing, they're continuing thrash metal
Polish technical death metal band DECAPITATED have selected Carnival Is Forever as a title of their fifth studio album and Nuclear Blast debut.
A few words from the guitarist & founding member Vogg on the album title: "Carnival: war, rape, lies, pathology, evil displayed through certain events and situations of the latest years in the world. Is Forever - I guess it doesn't need explaining. Both the text and the title are bitterly ironic. The author of the title and all lyrics is Jarek Szubrycht (Lux Occulta, author of world’s first biography of thrash metal legends Slayer (“No mercy”)). Carnival Is Forever is the follow-up to 2006’s Organic Hallucinosis and was produced by Wacek Kiełtyka and sound engineered by Malta Arkadiusz Malczewski. Drums & mixing duties were handled by Daniel Bergstrand (BEHEMOTH, MESHUGGAH, DIMMU BORGIR, KEEP OF KALESSIN, DEFLESHED). The band will be self-releasing the new album in their native Poland.
DECAPITATED's line-up includes: Wacław "Vogg" Kiełtyka on guitar, Kerim "Krimh" Lechner (Thorns Of Ivy, Tone Intimacy) on drums, Rafał Piotrowski (Ketha, Forgotten Souls) on lead vocals, and Filip "Heinrich" Hałucha (Vesania, Rootwater, Unsun, Masachist) on bass.

maybe they arent doing anything new, but i think Evile, Lazarus AD, Warbringer, Warbeast, Lich King, even Toxic Holocaust and Municipal Waste are pretty damn good too.
I don't mind Lich King and Evile, but I probably won't ever walk home and say "man, I'm in the mood for some Lich King right now."
