Between Converge, Mastodon, QOTSA, ATDI/Mars Volta, Dillinger, Isis, etc there's kind of a click of musicians that play on each other's albums, do project bands and produce each other's music. Kinda extends out to Neurosis, The Melvins, Tool/APC, Clutch, At the Gates, Sleep/HOF, Dave Grohl, Mike Patton, etc. She's already staked her spot on metal-ish fests and worked with people like Sunn O))). I could easily see her doing a full-on post-metal album with the former Isis members or The Body. Kinda like Neurosis & Jarboe or Cult of Luna with Julie Christmas
you mean the sample in that dumb lie detector video? i thought it was good. its gonna have a dance vibe overall on the album i bet because thats the producers style... but i think qotsa will pull it off. they always (well, usually) have some off the beaten path tracks on their albums too.
Queens is pretty much squandering all the ground they just made back up with Like Clockwork. Homme doesnt really understand his strengths. When he goes overtly poppy, it sucks. His songwriting is a lot better when hes being coy and goofy mixed with some grimey sounds. This shit sounds like B-grade DFA 1979
I just came here to say the new Killers track fucking bangs. The heartland rock shit was cool while they tried it but they are fucking BACK. minus that weird breakdown at the end.
