I don’t think I’d ever seen him actually play before this year. He’s always played on teams that were mostly inconsequential to us. I honestly feel bad for the guy because he had just begun to start making the rounds in Atlanta as “The New Guy” when Penix was drafted. He had been appearing at children’s hospitals meeting sick kids. Stuff athletes do when they’re looking to embrace their new fanbase. Maybe a week prior to the draft, they had him toss the ceremonial first pitch at a Braves game and had him guest on commentary for a few innings. Then they blind sighted everyone at the draft. A lot of (ahem) fans immediately turned in him and it’s mostly been downhill from there. He’s taken a beating on sports talk radio all season even when he was playing fine because of that section of (ahem) fans pretty much wanted Penix to play no matter what and there wasn’t much he could do in their eyes to change that opinion. When he actually started playing bad, the pitchforks were already out. All across social media that section of (ahem) fans are talking about how Penix is going to unlock the Falcons offense. I see that as a naive assumption. The Falcons were a mess before Cousins got here and will probably be a mess for the foreseeable future so it’s hard to place his failure square on his shoulders. Our kicker fell apart at roughly the same time, so it’s been odd watching two established vets lose their way in this fashion, but it is what it is.
He was always less good than Jarred goff when Jared was average lol.
He's serviceable. In the sense that he's good enough to keep you from a top 5 draft pick.
He's not good enough to win big games really. He's been in a lot of playoff games and only won one game.
I would have never given him that much money coming off an injury. Minnesota made all the right moves on his exit.
Stafford was never good enough to win big games until he signed with the Rams. Idk why Atlanta paid Kirk the money when they knew they were drafting a QB. Maybe didn’t want to throw Penix into the fire right away? Either way Kirk was gonna get paid injury or not by some team that really needed a quarterback.

Caleb has better stats, but he's got less wins than fields did with a worse roster than Caleb has now.
Big coaching hire coming up but they will.fuck it up.
It’s not on Caleb at all and it’s now a tank season anyways. Mfs are fucking retarded. Caleb has been the brightest part of the entire season, he is not the problem whatsoever and no Fields absolutely was not better in any way, shape, or form.
They’re in position for great picks again so that’s covered, so yes this next season is going to come down completely on the coach hire. I’m not worried about Caleb at all and that’s nice to finally be able to say about the QB position as a Bears fan.

He's just a very average QB.
They should have taken Daniel's.

Graham has been atrocious this year. I really hope they replace him with Christian.
