Also, Caleb isn't a francise QB yet, and there serious questions about him making it in the league.
The talent is there, but he has been atrocious this year. One of the worst QB's in the league and has actively cost the bears multiple games this year.
Something to be said about him being a rookie. But he needed to use this year to rid himself of the things he learned from a college offense, that do not work in the NFL.
He's been sacked 67 times, and holds on to the ball longer than anyone in the league because he's afraid to take any chances, and is constantly trying to make something happen when there is nothing there.
I've watched every snap of Caleb's career so far, and I'm telling you he has no idea how to read a defense most of the time. He snaps the ball and just thinks he's so good he can make something happen, but the nfl isn't college.
Also, he's very competitive. But he's also fairly weak mentally, and the losing and being sacked is already breaking him.
Next year is a huge year for his development. If he doesn't take major strides in the off-season, the long term outlook of his career is not good.
It’s literally more beneficial for the bears to lose right now than it is for them to win wtf? And teams don’t tank? Bro you’re a lions fan you should know better than anyone that they do.
The team may “benefit” from a better draft pick but the individual players and coaches aren’t going to risk their spots for it. There is still player endorsements, trades, advertising revenue, tv time, merch sales and a whole lot of other shit to be considered. When your team is that ass there is no guarantee that you won’t be losing your job as well, especially if you aren’t producing individually. That goes for everybody. Coaches, starters, bench riders. There are thousands of people just lined up ready to take any of those spots that open up. The announcers kept mentioning how half of the Cowboys team was playing for their jobs after being knocked out of the playoffs during their last game. The Lions were absolutely trying to win their last game when they went 0-16 for the season. They led for a good part of the final game. It just collapsed on them. It’s now competitive enough just in the NFC North where 14 wins doesn’t even lock up the division. It’s crazy competitive.

Now whay about deep all accuracy?
Oh yeah, worst in the history of the data.
Just last year:
+ D.J. Moore ranked top-5 in deep receiving yards
Say whay you will about pff, but..
They rank top-10 in PFF Pass Block Grade.
Joe Burrow and Caleb Williams are averaging exactly 13.0 pressures per game, and yet Williams has taken 30 more sacks
