Man I really can't believe the falcons are going to penix this year.
They aren't going to win the SB, even if they make the playoffs. Sure penix could look.good, but if he doesn't this could be an all time.historic blowup.
I could legit seeing everyone lose their jobs if it doesn't go well. Even the first year head coach and that's pretty rare.
It’s not like we got walked out of the stadium. The team is beat to fuck and we still put up what would normally be game wining numbers.
We didn’t get walked out cause we were playing garbage time ball for two quarters.
We been doing that. Texans, Bears and both Packer games were all closer than they should have been. A lot of these games are decided on by timing and just a couple of plays. Those other games, those plays went our way. This game they didn’t. If Legatron hits the kick he missed, and the onside goes our way, it’s a whole different game. Shit happens. Losing five more players sure didn’t help. We had a good streak. Now it’s time to bite some kneecaps.

I hate to say this, but this is pretty much what a DEI franchise looks like. They got a ton of positive hype down here for having a black GM and hiring a black HC. The black people have been clamoring for Penix to replace Cousins ever since he was drafted. I have no faith in any of them. Penix is old with severe injury red flags. As a rookie, he’s already 6 months older than Kyle Pitts and 2 years older than Bijan Robinson. He never really faced much top competition in college and didn’t play particularly well when he did. If he does play well it will be nice, but almost an accident. Watching the game Monday was nauseating. I was genuinely hoping the Raiders would complete the comeback at the end. I already want this coaching staff gone. On top of all the other things they fucked up, they let Ryan Nielsen go (without compensation) to the Jags and hired this bum Jimmy Lake. Ever since Kyle Shanahan left, they’ve bungled every other coaching hire besides Nielsen. They finally got a good one and just let him pass along. I’m so tired of this team

Stopped reading here. This isn’t a thing, you’re just a bigot.
I wasn't a huge fan of penix coming out but it wasnt an age thing. I worry less about QB's than other players, because they can play later and don't rely as much on being an athlete.
It was more so because he was inconsistent. He makes a great throw, then makes 4-5 BAD throws.
He was great against Texas. That was his outlier though. He's much more the QB that struggled against michigan imo.

I think the larger issue is that when you draft in the top 10, you don’t bother with older prospects with rickety knees that aren’t ready to play right away. There’s a reason he stayed in college that long. And when you just weeks earlier spent $180 million on a veteran QB and have no significant pass rush, it makes even less sense to make that leap.
I’ve been making the argument all day that this is going to be a huge problem for the Falcons going forward because of the way they handled the entirety of Cousins’ tenure here so far. It’s going to push away other potential free agents. They’re going to end up having to outspend other teams because nobody wants to go to a team that’s willing to draft their replacement and put them in a controversy right off the bat like this. He hadn’t even suited up for the team and already had certain (ahem) fans calling for him to be benched. It didn’t matter that he had a defensive minded HC and a rookie play caller, as soon as he hit a rough patch it became media fodder to ask when he would get benched. It started day 1. He didn’t play in the preseason because of his Achilles and they jumped all over him because of the first game.

If it wasn't for the damn tourover and stupid onside we could have won.
Getting anzalone back will be huge. He was really missed yesterday.
