I know its easy to complain about work, and a lot of people's jobs really suck. And I wish I made more money, for sure, especially as someone with a college degree basically only making mininum wage...
But my job treats me really damn well, it's hard to look for something else that pays more or has more potential for promotion...
It snowed like a fuckton yesterday. They told me to take the day off so my car didnt get stuck
During the quarantine, we were closed for three months, and they paid me the entire time. Gave me insurance the entire time. And STILL gave me a hefty Christmas bonus, and let me take my two weeks paid vacation when I got back.
They're giving me three days off a week, instead of two, because we've been really slow and it doesnt make sense to have full staff there - but they arent docking our pay to make up for the extra day off.
And they let me work on my own stuff, or browse the web during downtime at the desk.
Having a good boss really gives a positive impact on your work experience for sure.
Do you think there will be room to advance inside the company?
Thats the only thing. Its kind of a family business. So the bosses are all related. I get more responsibilities, and hopefully will eventually get paid a bit more, but I dont think I'll be able to like, become a manager or anything because Im not part of the family. Plus there's just not a lot to manage.
We literally have 6 people on staff total, and 1 intern lol.
Only reason Im trying to find other work at all is to make more money. Id like to move out! Haha.
Same job as a banker but more money. I realized that the majority of the hatred for my job comes from my boss. She's a micro managing cunt. Still a boring ass job but the new place seems more lax
Having a bad boss can make a great job awful. Hopefully you get out of that.
It's why I'm so damn thankful for my current position, I can call my boss and rant about shit and he just listens. Plus he's as bad as me at responding to emails and scheduling shit so he doesn't really have the standing to reprimand anyone. Makes my day much easier.
