May 5, 2010 - Medal of Honor fans eagerly awaiting to play the fresh reboot of the series won't have to hold out too much longer. Electronic Arts announced the game will ship on October 12 in North America and October 15 in Europe for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.
"Medal of Honor is an authentic look into today's war. Inspired by real people and real events, the game puts players in the boots of today's warrior -- from the infantry ground pounder to the Tier 1 Operator," said Greg Goodrich, Executive Producer of Medal of Honor. "We are proud of this piece because it offers a glimpse into the game we're creating, while also showing the mindset of these warriors."
For the first time in the series, Medal of Honor shifts to a modern day backdrop in Afghanistan, leaving behind its traditional World War II setting. The game is also rated M, another first in the series.
The single-player campaign is being developed by EALA, Electronic Arts' internal Los Angeles-based studio. Swedish developer DICE, best known for its work on Battlefield and the Battlefield: Bad Company series, is handling the multiplayer portions.
May 4, 2010 - Despite running into server problems yesterday causing frustrations for many, the Halo: Reach beta is off to a strong start for Microsoft and developer Bungie.
The studio confirmed over one million unique players logged into the beta yesterday, the first day of the expected 17-day test.
Bungie says it's worked out many of the major issues users had yesterday, so expect a much smoother experience from here on out.
