I'm giving up on Ninja Gaiden Black. I have been bested. Made it up to the double tanks/helicopter boss part. I just can't do it, and I'm no longer having fun struggling through it. I tried my best.
Took the plunge and sold my ps5 for 335 yesterday and copped a pro.
I wanted to do it while the PS5 is still holding value. Maybe it won't dip, but I wanted the pro as a way of future proofing myself for some titles that come out in the next year or two.
Games like GTA 6 and the MGS that are coming out later this year and beyond are bound to just run better on it.
Lous part 1 and KCD2 both run quite smooth on it for sure. Not sure my eye can pick out graphical differences but the frames are def noticeable.
Fuck new Pokemon Legends dropping this year. Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a Switch 2 launch title. I’m still way behind on Pokemon, still gotta run thru Brilliant Diamond, Legends Arceus, and Violet. I should start one of those soon and push it to the front of the line.
Arceus is awesome, move that up the que. I had a ton of fun with Violet despite people’s bitching and I personally didn’t see any bugs. Brilliant Diamond is fun but unnecessary. You can skip that and not miss much.
MGS is dropping on PC like Silent Hill lmao. So optimal way to play it will be immediately available unlike GTA.
Pc games are not optomized these days. A large percentage of them run like shit and stutter when played on PC.
This is a widely held opinion from the PC gaming community and a big reason why I got out of the master race completion about a year and a 1/2 ago. (That and the insane gpu market right now is stupid)
That's only going to continue as these developers are coddling to the console community.
Sadly PC releases are never going to be a major priority to game companies when it comes to most games. Unless it's something like civilization.
Obviously you are going to better frames on the PC.
But outside of that, and lot of games drop in a shit state on PC. I could be wrong but don't you play games a lot of times when they have been put for a while?
Like monster hunter wildsn right now runs like shit on PC. Most of what I've read says it's performing best on the pro. It's will get better over time on the PC but that's how a lot of the PC releases go it seems.
Every single sports game made my ea plays better on console because they don't even attempt to optimize.
Rn I'm playing lou part 1 in fidelity mode which is native 4k and getting 60 fps.
That's comparable to the 4080 at least last year. Now the ps5 gpu isn't that strong, but for some reason console gpu's tend to punch above their weight.

Some but there’s also lots I’ve tried right after launch and I’ve never had it happen other than micro stutters once in a blue moon, which is a nonfactor. There’s obviously certain specific games that are broken PC ports like Jedi Survivor and shit, but those are the exception not the rule, and obviously become notorious because of that.
I also think a lot of PC issues stem from simply not having powerful enough hardware. Obviously cheaper CPUs and GPUs are going to run into more problems and be able to handle less. You’re never really running into that running a 4090/5090 and a flagship CPU, whether you go AMD or Intel. You’re strong arming everything at that point lmao.
I also run 96GB RAM on my gaming PC which is complete overkill so there’s that as well. Even my studio PC which in itself can handle gaming very well too, has 64GB.

Over time that gets fixed but I've played games where it took up to a year or more for them to be fixed.
