It sucks, because the game itself is cool. Just so so frustrating.
Thanks to quick resume i can just pop it on and play it for a minute and if i get frustrated just play something else. Then play something and come back and its right where i left off.
It’s funny cause on Miles Morales, it has 2 graphical modes, one that’s in 30 FPS but looks better because it has ray tracing, among other graphical upgrades, and then another in 60 FPS which sacrifices said upgrades for framerate. So obviously, being a console player, most games don’t hit 60 FPS whatsoever, which is standard for PC players. I put that shit on the 60 FPS mode and that shit felt like unnaturally fast lmao as if it was literally sped up and everything was moving way faster than it should. I put it back on 30 FPS because as I said it looks better that way anyways, but honestly even if they both looked the exact same and the only difference was framerate, I still mighta put it back down to 30 FPS. That shit threw me off.
Anyone have any suggestions for a low/mid range gaming laptop? I'm itching to play strategy and rts games like Xcom, Age of Empires, Civilization, Warcraft, FTL: Faster Than Light, etc. So nothing too graphically intensive but can handle games of that genre.
Yeah, ive built a few desktops. Never utilize mine really.
Mouse and keyboard is the only way you can really play those types of games without immense frustration.
i love the convenience of just picking up my xbox and having 200 games in my backpack, but i tried to play planet coaster on it and before i even started i hated it lol.

I play on an HP Omen laptop. I spent $2k on it, and it has a 1070, i7, 16GB RAM, so its more mid-high/high end. For older RTS games, like what you mentioned a laptop with a 1060/8GB RAM should be fine. I would def look into the HP Omen.

Even 90 or 120 fps. 30 fps sucks now. I put up with it for retro games. But its distracting with new games.
