Who the fuck ever thought Aerosmith headlining Hellfest was a good idea? Who thought Emperor and Wintersun sharing a stage with Bon Jovi was a good idea?
Is that real though? Guns N Roses just sold out stadiums all over the place and made a boatload I can't see them being listed like that they would be headliners
You tryin to be a hero fool? You wanna see badass mother fucker?! I'll show ya a badass!!!

I'm by no means an expert on Bowie, but he's got a large catalogue and he's done some really cool stuff. I really like the album Station To Station. It might benefit you to go listen to some of the past greats to do it on their own like Bowie and Prince. Check out the artists that inspire the artists that inspire you, yknow.
That's actually why I checked him out. Weeknd said the whole Starboy album was inspired by Bowie and Prince, wit the title itself bein a nod to Starman. I already listen to Prince but I had never really heard much Bowie other than the songs that were in Rock Band lol. So I started wit Blackstar since it's the most recent and got such critical acclaim this year. Weeknd ain't the only artist I like to praise it either, Danny Brown said it's his AOTY. But yea this is really fuckin dope. The fact a 69 year old artist made somethin this fresh sounding is inspiring to me.

Bowie was always cutting edge, even when his albums weren't selling. He just got old and people moved on to younger artists. He's getting hype now because he's dead, but he only ever really made a couple of bad albums and those were back in the late 80s
The biggest artists in metal right now are a European retro electronic artist, and three teenage Japanese girls. And Hellfest looks like this. Metal is dead.

We haven't had a metal band able to see out a stadium since Metallica. The only bands who can sell out amphitheaters and arenas are either old legacy acts like Iron Maiden and Black Sabbath, or sell outs who are more radio rock than metal like Avenged Sevenfold and Five Finger Death Punch. The biggest band after that is Mastodon, and they barely sell out House of Blues size venues.
No other band has made it close to that level of popularity in years. And yes, metal is, and is supposed to be that underground music genre. But even then, nobody gives a shit about them. These bands are playing bars, which hold like a 200 person max capacity. And many of these shows dont even sell out.
Allegaeon just released a killer album, and Im not even a fan of them, and they're forced to turn to crowdfunding their bills because they can't make enough money in the industry.
Unless you have the time to tour 24/7, metal bands cant make it. And when you work two, or three jobs, you dont have time to tour all the time. You dont have time for a family.
I dont say "metal is dead" because I dont like a lineup. I say "metal is dead" because the industry is fucked, and metal bands literally can't make it anymore.
