Also if you read the article is says those prices are for shit like college concerts and those prices are inflated because the schools dont mind paying more cash. So those aren't tour numbers.
My son is going to a 4 day music festival tomorrow in Baltimore called Maryland Deathfest. There will be NO country music there folks. Most of the bands playing have odd names, such as Asphyx and Soilent Green and Gorguts, and his favorite, My Dying Bride. These are some of the ones he knows and likes. Several of the bands participating will be foreign bands and I looked up a few names to figure out what they mean...such as...Ratos de Porao which is Portuguese and means Basement Rats...I am sorry, I could NOT listen to something called Basement Rats! Another one was Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats. They are from England...can you imagine being introduced as a Deadbeat? I have to say, while I hope he has lots of fun, I am glad I am NOT going to this festival!

For sure the band probably sees at the most 50% of that money. But I bet a lot of places they go they get at least one meal a day free

It's funny cuz I was subjected to 311 for the first time in years earlier and it's remarkable that they're even more terrible than I remembered
I saw Cypress Hill last year in Charlotte and 311 was the headliner. I left early.
