Went to stop at a cabela's to shut down for the night. Pulled into the wrong lot, tried to swing wide back out, still took out a light pole. Cop didn't cite me but company insurance is on the hook with cabela's for the damage, I reported everything, and am now waiting until morning for love's to have their day mechanic come out and cut the rim off my rear tandem wheel that hit it.
Fuckin rip. Probably gonna have to go back in for disciplinary training or some shit but safety manager at least said I'm not fired.
Pic makes it look like the lot is fuckin huge lmao. The problem was the road I pulled in from and was trying to get back on was at a hard diagonal angle back so I was trying to go wide around the pole to approach the exit with my trailer already pointed the right way. Tried to straighten out too early and wasn't watching my mirror.
Aforementioned $170 fish from the random thread showed up DOA. Big F. They have a 100% guarantee if it shows up dead, so I’ll be getting another one free of charge, but the credit itself takes up to 3 days, meaning I won’t be getting the replacement til next week. This is the first time this has happened after numerous live orders, and it WOULD happen wit the absolute most expensive one smh.
@Xeno I see insurance claims for similar accidents like that all day long. Signs...letterboxes....bollards.... sides of buildings get clipped often. Just don't make a habit of it 😂

That isn’t even that bad. I do IT work for a trucking company and I see a lot of drivers get put on leave for accidents until safety either approves them to work again or they let them go. One time a driver hit a business owner’s vehicle and didn’t say shit. It wasn’t until the person who got their vehicle wrecked contacted our company wondering when we were going to pay. Guess what happened to that driver.
I met a client last year that was a stereotypical old school gay hairdresser. Late 40s, had a short, almost greasy perm that reminded me of a Jheri curl. Had an 80s porn stache. He felt he had to leave the hairdressing game though because the chemicals were doing things to his skin. So he shut down his beauty spot in Texas, moved to Atlanta and went to get his cdl. He got a job, but from what he told me, he took out an awning his first day. From what I gathered, he took out 3-4 different things very quickly. He said that after a certain amount of incidents that they put your license on probation, but he didn’t have the remaining money to pay for the classes. I hate to laugh at people that are in such a vulnerable position, but his whole story was like comedy. I can’t imagine why this middle aged gay hair dresser decided to switch careers to truck driving of all things. It seemed like he was the only one that was surprised it didn’t work out
