The sight of the maggots crawling around in it will never leave my memory though. Never actually seen any before up close. Will prolly keep me up at night.
What's funny is I was thinking the same thing and this guy goes "wow I think they actually dropped the stage a but since last time." He said the drums were completely out of sight and was frustrated at waiting in line so long when he was better off in the middle of the crowd.
I've mentioned him a couple of times before here. He had schizophrenia, which had been a struggle since we were in college. He has a pretty extensive criminal record because he would get off his meds and do weird shit. He was an addict as well, so that didn't help. A couple of years ago, he got put on some new meds that caused him to gain a bunch of weight in a short amount of time. It put too much pressure on his heart and he had a heart attack. After he got out of the hospital, he was refusing his meds. Since he was mandated by his probation to take his meds, they had a county nurse that would come out daily to administer them. When he refused, they called the police in. From what I was told, they came out there one day and he was ranting in his from yard nude. When the police tried to take him in, he fought them and they had to taze him. He spent the next few months in jail. He had been out since October on bond. Since he was a felon with mental illness, he had a hard time finding work and they were still forcing him to take these drugs that stressed his body. He actually had a Master's in Biology, but he could only get work as a welder. His wife told me the place he worked at didn't have air conditioning in his area because it made the welding bubble up. So he was in there working with flame in 95 degree heat. He wasn't feeling well at work, so they sent him home at 11. When he got home, he was so limp that he couldn't take the keys out of the car or unlock his door. His wife called 911. When the paramedics showed, she said she had gotten the door open, but he was non-responsive. She said since he had the prior issues, they had their house coded to where the paramedics wouldn't approach without a police escort. So they were just standing at the end of the driveway waving their hands at her. She said he threw up and then he just stopped breathing. All the while with the medics standing there watching. It took an additional 10 minutes for the pigs to show up and by then he was gone. To add insult to injury, the cops wouldn't let her ride to the hospital with him. They carded and ran background checks on her and the guy that rents their basement, then questioned her because she's a parolee. The G.B.I. is investigating it as drug related, so they've ordered an autopsy and won't let the family have access to the body yet.
He has 2 little kids, a 6 year old boy and 4 year old girl. When I talked to his mother earlier, she said they still hadn't told them yet. As crazy as he could be, he loved his kids. It's fucking sad that they'll have to grow up without him.
