Logically speaking, you all are saying it isn't okay to listen to one part of an album and say it sucks. But it is okay to listen to 2-3 songs in a bands discography and say the bands sucks.
i never said anything about bands sucking.... just eliminating them from a possible download. Why would download an entire album of a band that's music (the 2-3 songs) has elements you cant stand or just don't like?
it doesn't take much for me to decide.... "eh; i'll give this a shot".
But it's much easier to listen to a band and say.... "i dont like this"
I can usually tell within a minute or two if i just WONT like a band.... because it'll reek of shit that i ALREADY KNOW that i dont like; and i just wont bother.

..... and say i do decide to download. Im not going to then JUST listen to 2-3 songs from the album and delete if, if i dont like those 3 songs. Because i already downloaded it, the only way to truly judge it fairly is to listen to it in its entirety.
every once in a blue moon i'll download some random album without listening to the band.... but there's still criteria involved in deciding this. Like the country and genres its been tagged to.
Say i go to a restaurant and i want to try something i've never eaten before... say Crocodile. I'll order a sample platter; i could tell within the first bite whether or not I like the food.
But if say SHANE goes to the same restaurant; having eaten crocodile before, orders Crocodile stew or someshit. He gives it a couple slurps and he says... " bah, i dont like the this because it isnt as good as x"
really... this whole thing is pointless. It became a misunderstanding when shane said he listened to 3-4 songs before deciding to download an album. (which is where i came in and agreed that it was the best way to do it)
but before that.... "i picked random songs to listen to lol"
he made it seem as if that was the way he listened to his albums.
You are correct you never said a band sucked, but your implications said otherwise.
Anyhow I totally agree don't delete an album or say it sucks because you haven't listened it all. I have a ton of music I downloaded because 1 or 2 songs. I still haven't listened to it all.
