It is supposed to show that the structure isn't flat and that some structure bonds stick out away from the chain (towards or away from you) in 3D space.

The owl tat looks great other than the fresh outline throwing the depth perception off a bit, but that's to be expected with fresh outlines. Once it is blended a bit more, it's going to be a really nice piece. I love the white highlights. It pops a whole lot more now.
If it's the same artist still you can see a lot of growth in (her?) work.
Also, wood and/or laminate floors have a porous surface, making them unsuitable for hospitals, the Dr's office or tattoo rooms because it can give blood born pathogens like hepatitis a place to hide from disinfection.
Decided where and how I'm gonna get my Songbird (BioShock) tattoo. Gonna get it as a cover up for my inner upper right arm wit the Songbird in a sort of fetal position wit "A Man Chooses. A Slave Obeys. I Won't Be Held Inside A Cage." Goin around him in an oval in the font from the game. The "I won't be held inside a cage." Is obviously a personal add-on not from the game, but it fits well.
