Who gives a shit if he's over? He was a great heel and is entertaining in the ring. The fact that he can be "the bad" guy while still having a bunch of people root for him is very cool and shows that he has potential to be one of the greats.

Ya, 06 sucked in general though, Cena has become much more entertaining recently at least in my opinion where Orton who hit his peak in the McMahon/Triple H rivalry has gone downhill fast.
