Saw it this weekend. It was also my first time to the movie theater since they did a complete remodeling of the place. The new seats are a huge improvement.
Movie was really good, but not quite great for me.
Just watched the first two Die Hard films for the very first time.
I fucking loved the first one. Top notch action, just great from start to finish. Everyone was great and Alan Rickman was amazing in it.
Now I heard alot of criticisms for the second one but to be completely honest I really enjoyed the Shit out of that one as well. Not as good as the first but I was fully entertained from start to finish. My only critiques was that the scene where McClaine ejects himself from the plane was cheesy as fuck (but hey it was '90 so whatever) and that the villain was kind of forgettable. Nowhere near as good as Rickman in the first. Although I will say the tension was top notch here. Imo more so than the first. The scene with the plane when they changed the altitude was crazy. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time.
Will be watching the rest later this week. I've heard good things about 3, mixed things about 4 and heard 5 sucked ass but I'm interested enough to watch them all.
The first one was amazing. Very few movies are as good as Die Hard. They go downhill from there. His character loses the average guy cop vibe and gets shifted into an over the top 80's type action stunt hero, especially in the latter movies.
Man the third Die Hard sucked. It was a mediocre by the numbers action flick at best. It lost all essence of Die Hard. I didn't even feel like I was watching a Die Hard film. Jackson and Willis' chemistry was great but that's about the only redeemable quality. The Villain's plan made no sense and tying him back to Gruber was just a cheap rub and tug for the fans. Easily the worst one so far. Personally, I would give the first one 9/10 and the second 8/10. This one sits at like a 5/10.
