Wish I would have taken care of my shit. Can’t find my n64 games. Can’t find Pokémon colosseum. Mom gave all the Pokémon games from game boy to my cousin who’s mentally a 7 year old his whole life.
Replaying through Uncharted. The first 3 still kick fucking ass and 2 and 3 are still a couple of my favorite games of all time. I only played 4 the one time so this is my first time replaying since release and I remember not liking it at first. Still feel that way unfortunately. I’m at chapter 9 and I kinda don’t wanna play it anymore
I like it even less this go round. The story is fantastic, the characters aside from shit ass Nadine are still great and the game is gorgeous but everything else sucks. The scaling is so counterintuitive and is so blatant about wasting your time. Ironically it’s the first game where they actually mark what you can climb on and I still have no fucking clue where to go half the time. I also miss the supernatural/curse elements. The Avery stuff is interesting but it feels bare bones. The gunplay sucks ass, the enemy AI is super annoying and you spend wayyyy to fucking much time climbing shit. It’s unreal. I’m ten hours in. A half hour of that is hiding in cover for gunplay, 25 minutes of that is standing still (figuring out puzzles) and the rest is fucking climbing. It’s so egregiously boring I can’t stand it
The characters were always the best part and they’re just as good here. They’re still witty and charming and feel human. I don’t care for the villain and Nadine fucking sucks but Drake, Sully, Sam and Elena are all great. I actually love the core narrative about the brothers and it diving deeper into Nate’s past whole he juggles his marriage to Elena. It’s just padded out with so much monotonous, sloppy gameplay. I can’t believe I hate the gameplay of an Uncharted game this much. I’m gonna replay Golden Abyss as well but I don’t think I can do Lost Legacy again considering it’s a worse Uncharted 4 and they ruined Chloe’s character
1/2 will go down as all timers for me. They were like the last video games I really got into. Staying up late sneaking out smoking bowls coming back in and gaming while the parents were asleep.

You can tell Neil Druckman wrote Uncharted 4 because it sucks. I hated retconning a brother and origin change in for Nate. Hated Nate and Elena fighting again (rehashing Uncharted 2). I FUCKING HATED the ending throwing in Nate and Elena's daughter, felt like The Last Of Us bait.
Nadine also sucked, a large part being because she was supposed to be Cutter, and they didnt really change her lines or anything. That's why her and Chloe's relationship feels weird and strangely romantic, because it was changed deep in production.
Neil Druckman essentially stealing the franchise from Amy Hennig and pushing her out of Naughty Dog will forever be a horrible mistake for the company. Druckman is such a shitty hack.
I really wish I could have played Amy's version before Cuckman took it over and ruined it.

Yeah the shit with Amy was bullshit. He scrapped like 8 months worth of her story and characters work. Fuck that guy. Nadine/Chloe I never read as romantic, it was always just an awkward and stilted pairing. I’ve never liked Nadine but they changed Chloe from a capable and cocky bad ass to a girl with daddy issues. No thanks.
Nate and Elena didn’t really fight in Uncharted 2. She was more exasperated that he was still up to his shenanigans but they weren’t romantically involved until the very end of that game. I wouldn’t say they rehashed it at all for 4 and their story was one of the most interesting and humanized thing about 4. I actually didn’t mind the ending with the daughter. Sony rarely gives any of their franchises a definitive ending and Nate deserved one. It was wholesome. I wouldn’t even say Sam is a retcon. I had completely forgotten about this but when Margo drugs Nate in the bazaar during 3 she makes a reference to Drake not being his real last name and hints at another relative to him still being alive. I think most people just assumed it was his Dad because they say the mother killed herself and there was never any mention of siblings.
Was Nadine supposed to be Cutter? I’d never heard that before. I liked Cutter. He had to leave during 3’s production to go finish filming The Hobbit and I was always wishing they’d bring him back.

After a fresh re-play, the first 3 still hold up extremely well. 2 is still one of my favorite games of all time
Keeping the Naughty Dog train going. I went through Crash Bandicoot trilogy before playing through Uncharted 1-4. Decided to do Jak & Daxter next. Precursor Legacy is still a goddamn treasure. About 60% of the way through Jak II. It’s Jak & Daxter GTA and it has all the trappings that come with that but it’s still pretty fun. A bit janky in spots but the writing makes up for it
If you have ps plus part 1 was free at one time. I think it still is but im not 100% on it.
Part 1 holds up pretty well considering how old it is. Definitely shows some age in the level design though. But there are also parts where it's pretty good.
Part 2's gameplay is top notch. Some of the best in any games. The story was... gripping. I'll say that. 1000% worth play throughs
