Man, the more I see of The Dark Ages, the less hyped I get. They really made a slow, simpler, more casual Doom game with parry focused combat as a follow up to Eternal
I’m seeing it called “Doom Souls/Doomborne” which doesn’t personally put a good taste in my mouth cause fuck those games. I’ll be playing on Game Pass tho so low risk for me. If it’s trash I’ll simply drop it early.
7900 XTX is definitely a beast of a card. Also tried Marvel Rivals on it now and at 4K Ultra + FSR, it’s staying at a steady 200+ FPS lmao. Those are the same numbers I get on the 4090 on the same settings, except it damn near looks BETTER on the 7900 build because that’s connected to the 240Hz monitor, whereas the 4090 is connected to the 120Hz TV, so I actually see all the extra frames on the 7900 build. Resolution is neck and neck, although it’s easier for a game like Rivals to look good because of the art style as opposed to something more realistic. So it’s obviously game to game and how well FSR is utilized, cause Forza Motorsport wasn’t quite as impressive at 4K Ultra and stayed at about 80 FPS, although it still looks great, but the fact the 7900 can be deadlocked wit the 4090 on ANY games is extremely impressive.
Even crazier is that I was watching shootouts between the 7900 XTX and the 9070 XT and on 4K Ultra, the 9070 gets better frames on like half the games they tested. And even on the ones that it loses, it’s only lower by like 5 FPS, completely insignificant. But the ray tracing shits on the 7900 across the board since that was a focal point on this card. So at $600 vs. the original $1,000 price tag of the 7900, that’s an incredible fucking price to performance ratio based on what I’ve seen firsthand from the 7900. At worst, the 9070 matches it, but at best, it outperforms it in certain cases. I kinda wanna sell my 7900 and swap in a 9070 lmao. I could basically do a free swap cause I could easily get $500-$600 for the 7900.

unless you are doing some kind of full fledge AI video editing, you kind of wasted your money on that card IMO.
Now if you were still rocking a 3080 or something id understand. But this generation of ards is just a giant money grab.
