Thats really the only thing thats held me back from a truck. We only have a 2017 highlander other than my prius. Its a nice suv, bur any time we want to do house projects and need materials or want to buy something off marketplace it deters us because we dont have anything to move stuff in lol.
Not only are they great for hauling stuff, but I definitely prefer the ride ride and seating positions of a truck. The seating position of my car has me staring right into truck headlights coming the other way. I’m not a fan of most of the crossover vehicles but the ride height is better. But most trucks or SUV’s don’t get the mileage I need, but that’s slowly starting to change. If the Maverick being a Ford is a deal breaker for you, the sales forecast will have the rest of the manufacturer’s paying attention.
6 foot whips are great for visibility in the dunes, not so great for trails through the woods, or loading into enclosed trailers. If I get a pair it will probably be the shorter 2 footers.
Dodge just announced the new Charger EV. It has a unique front aero treatment on the hood, a transmission with built in “shift points” so it feels like it is still switching gears, and a 128 decibel “exhaust” system that tunes and amplifies the sound of the electric motor.
