I didn't get as close as Ape or Arlo and my clothes got soaked in that storm but damn it was a great set. Despite the 90 minute storm delay they played their full set. Looking forward to seeing them again with the full stage and production in July. And James sounds good, fuck off Rex.
Honestly, how do you think James sounds good? He's lost all the gruff and agression in his voice. Its a complete 180 from his old voice. Especially on the 80s material it just sounds ridiculous
Obviously it's not like the original recording, not everyone can sing in the same key and range after 35 years of intense touring like Bruce Dickinson. If you're comparing him to that I'd expect you to be disappointed. But I never saw Metallica before his voice got wrecked. In the key the songs are in now his singing is good.
Its not even the key though. Its completely different styles. If he fucked his voice up back in the day then i certainly feel bad for him but i'm not gonna pretend he sounds good now.
