In all honesty, I respond to you a lot cause I used to hold these exact opinions. No joke.
I didn't even have a girlfriend until I was 23. I never did the online dating thing cause I liked to pretend that I was above it. I used to say that casual sex was classless. I was straight edge for years, again trying to pretend like I was better than others cause I didn't give in to alcohol and drugs, etc, etc.
So yeah, I can relate to you to a certain extent, which is why I get so combative sometimes. The point still stands though, online dating isn't a big deal, it's just another way to find someone. It may not be for everyone, but there's nothing wrong with those who use it.

I think the only problem with online dating is that it is very easy to develop feelings towards who you think this person is, when the person might not really be like that in real life. Additionally sometimes there is this perceived feelings of owing the other person something because you've been talking so long online.
If you can avoid these two pitfalls that I listed above, I think online dating is an excellent method for meeting someone. You know more about the person then if you say just met them at a bar. You just need to set the ground rules so neither party feels trapped by the two pitfalls I mentioned.

There's a lot more to life than drugs and sex. Im doing fine without it.
The day I do drugs is the day you give it up for good.
