I wouldn't say a lot of shoegaze has a negative tone the same way a lot if metal does, but it's not exactly as uplifting as post-rock. The most negative shoegaze ever reall gets is resembling the feeling of getting with a chick you don't give a shit about when you're looking for the lost affection you had with some one else. Like it's got a warm, dreamy embrace, but they're sad about some shit. Kinda melancholy. And xeno, if you've listened to Alcest, you've listened something way more shoegaze than Sunbather. Deafheaven is really mostly a black metal/post-rock hybrid with the walls of sound shoegaze is known for.
Tried out the Lantlos. Didn't care for it much. I think the new Alcest is way better actually. I will agree the new Alcest is nowhere near as good as the previous album, but it's still good.

Closest thing to shoegaze I've listened to is Sunbather and that doesn't really have a negative tone to it imo
You should change that.

Hopefully that kinda made sense

so everyone is pretty universally meh on new aal. interesting...
It's better than Weightless, but it's still just "okay".
I will check out this Alcest everyone keeps moaning about
Honestly I gor kinda bored with the AAL. Wasnt "bad" but proggy instrumetal just isnt hittin me lately.
Also FF Satanist better than Agalloch wtf
FF been sucking Behemoth's dick ever since he argued with me that they weren't dem niggas
They put the album up on NPR. I linked it in the "upcoming albums" thread. The actual album drops in a few weeks.
anyone got a 320k link of agalloch? not wasting my time on a stream or 192 poverty.
I think they're = for different reasons, I just have the satanist at 1 cause I've had more time to absorb it.
I don't even know what you just said....
I personally think The Satanist is their most well written album, it's their only album I'd probably buy the CD for.
Evangelion faggot
for some reason I thought the show for a minute. Then realized we're still talkin Behemoth.
I thought The Satanist was really overrated.
